Ansel Kinglocke, the Manchester man accused of seriously injuring an Elliot Hospital nursing assistant last month when he attacked the man in a locked psychiatric area in the medical facility's emergency room, remains jailed on $100,000 cash/surety bail.

Kinglocke entered an innocent plea Wednesday in Hillsborough County Superior Court, Northern District, during his arraignment on felony charges of first- and second-degree assault.

Kinglocke, 33, of 495 Old Wellington Road, Apt. 206, had been in the unit for three days, waiting to be involuntarily committed to the New Hampshire Hospital when he allegedly repeatedly struck nursing assistant Donald Wyman in the head and face, breaking his jaw in four places, knocking out four teeth and nearly killing him, authorities said.

He is also accused of punching Melissa Clermont in the face, knocking her to the floor. Police said Kinglocke wanted out of the locked psychiatric-examination area and when Wyman stopped him from leaving, he attacked him.
