Man plucked from sinking boat on Lake Winnisquam
A Belmont man was taken to safety after his boat started to sink on Lake Winnesquam Tuesday night.
The state Marine Patrol reported receiving a 9-1-1 call at about 7:30 p.m. The caller reported a vessel was sinking on the lake.
A Marine Patrol officer responded and Peter DeVivo, 47, of Belmont was taken to safety. He was not hurt.
Belmont and Laconia fire departments along with Belmont police officers responded to the call. An investigation into what happened is underway.
