Another Weiner problem pops up.

NASHUA – Members of Nashua’s Board of Public Works met behind closed doors Tuesday night after learning that city employees ran up a tab of nearly $1,500 eating at a downtown restaurant last year and that their meals were paid for with taxpayer money.

Mayor Donnalee Lozeau said a “personnel issue” was recently discovered after the city began compiling records to comply with a Right-to-Know request from The Telegraph.

Records recently obtained by The Telegraph show that between August and November 2012, city workers made 38 separate purchases from The Sausage King of Nashua. The meals, purchased each month during the time period, had an average price of about $39, although some were for as little as $9 and others were more than $100.

An invoice submitted Oct. 25 contained nine separate purchases totaling $508, including one request for reimbursement for $147.88. And in November, workers racked up a tab of $127.71 – ostensibly in a single sitting.

I'm sure there is an explanation.  

Maybe those "taxpayer-treats" were for employees' birthday parties?
