This is how the left twists things.
You just can't believe it. Somebody posted this on Facebook. It as a pic. of a I guess young woman. It is Veruca against the GOP or something like that. The captions says: " I called Blue Shield yesterday and found that my monthly premiums are going to go from $811 to$85 a month. Now we know why you were fighting so hard against the ACA. This will make it a lot harder to line your pockets with our money now that Obamacare is finally taking effect." WHAT? LINE YOUR POCKETS WITH OUR MONEY?????? Typical twist of the truth. First of all if that is true and she is getting her insurance for $86 a month, then she is being subsidized, which means that she is poor, which means that nobody is lining their pockets with HER money because she doesn't HAVE any. I got SO IRRITATED AT THIS!! But again, it is so typical of the way the libs twist things.

my monthly premiums
"The premiums" she would owe--or "the premiums" she actually was paying?

Re: This is how the left twists things.
obama yesterday used Kentucky as an example of a great start to the aca. The thing is they are not part of the national program. They started their own state exchange.

The whole thing is a lie, but you can bet if it WAS true, it would be the amount per month she WOULD HAVE PAID if she wasn't poor.

Re: This is how the left twists things.
FRIEDMAN: It’s exactly how Hezbollah, a minority party in Lebanon, has managed to intimidate and pervert Lebanese democracy. And by the way, do you know what Hezbollah means? It means “the party of God.” They have God on their side, but they also have guns and bazookas on their side. And they use that in order to intimidate an entire democracy.
ASHBROOK: I mean, isn’t that quite a jump from Hezbollah to Tea Party?
FRIEDMAN: Not in the least, okay? They’re both using intimidatory tactics to override, okay, override the will of the majority. We should call this by its real name. This is serious. This is not a joke, and this is not a test. The implications of this succeeding I think are incredibly, incredibly dangerous.

i don't like how the left tries to trivialize and belittle anybody that disagrees with them. They're not very nice.

It's true. They think they are so superior. Obama especially. Oh, I hear Michelle is not happy. She has lost 16(?) of her assistants due to the shutdown. Poor girl. How can she live?????

Very true. I am feeling the impact more and more everyday. They take from me and give it to someone else. Obama is going to make us all poor and he will keep on making millions. It's just not fair.fshnski wrote:Why the heck are we paying so somebody else can live a better life than us?

GOP is 'Resurrection of the Confederacy'
SCHULTZ:
What's your take on what we're facing right now in this country?
jesse jACKSON:
We're looking at the re-rise of the Confederacy, the same group narrowly conceived -- anti-labor, anti-racial justice, anti-gender equality, anti-the big American dream --
that tried to take us down in 1860. It was the Fort Sumter tea party, its progenitor, and Lincoln had to fight a war to establish the Union from them and to end slavery.
This is the resurrection of the Confederacy.

No Halloween?! It's a religious holiday?!
This comes from Inglewood Elementary School in the North Penn School District.
A letter to parents Tuesday, signed by the school’s principal, has the subject line:
No Halloween Parade or Celebrations.
The letter says schools need to mindful of all members of community with regards to holidays and celebrations, and while many consider holidays like Halloween, Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day to be secular, others view them as having religious undertones.
And it says while school districts can teach about religious and cultural practices, it cannot sponsor those practices.

More from the left ... MSNBC's Joy Reid
The Republican party, to Ari (Melber)'s point, they understand they have unpopular positions. They cannot enact their dream sort of Ayn Randian world through a legislative process. They can't win elections to enact the conservative policies. They think, you know, they might think better of the country, whatever, they believe this is the way it should be. But they cannot do it.
She added:
So they are now essentially taking hostages. But this is beyond a hostage situation. They have shot a hostage. They went ahead and shut the government down. Having done that, you cannot then go to the hostage negotiator and say, "Why won't you talk to me? Why won't you sit down and have a conversation with me?"
Reid concluded:
You shot one of the hostages already. What in anyone's rational thinking makes you believe they wouldn't go ahead and breach the debt ceiling at this point? Several of them are saying it's fine to do that. So we understand these are not people who can be negotiated with because they want fundamentally unpopular policies forced onto the majority in this country and forced even onto the majority of their own party.
