"...Cost seems to be of no concern when the Obama Administration can use a crisis to its advantage. As Rahm Emanuel used to say, never let a good crisis go to waste. What the president is doing is exaggerating the costs of the shutdown in order to score political points. This tactic is typically referred to as the Washington Monument Syndrome or the Mount Rushmore ploy and involves shutting down popular visiting attractions like parks or popular services like libraries in order to curry public sentiment toward your side.

These aspects of the shutdown aren't about cost-cutting, they're about scoring political points. It is no secret the media is attempting to lay blame on the House-controlled GOP in the shutdown. In fact, CBS, ABC, and NBC have specifically laid blame on just Republicans 21 times and just Democrats 0 times.

The shutting down of websites and open-air memorials are being used for political gain. It surely isn't about cutting costs. These fabricated signs of the shutdown are to inspire an emotional response from the people. We can only hope that these wrongs are righted sooner rather than later..."

And on tv this morning they are encouraging gov. employees to apply for unemployment while at the same time Carol Shea Porter, Democrat of NH, wants to sponsor a bill that pays all government employees during the shutdown. So does that mean they will get both???????? Of course some will, because if they start paying unemployment, you know the gov will never be able to keep it straight who got what and when and who owes what back.

But there's so much money to give away!

So, Jesse Jackson, Jr. 17 year veteran of the US Congress, suddenly gets a "mood disorder" (about the same time he learned he was to be indicted) and is going to prison for 2.5 years. Because his "mood disorder" was so severe, he has become disabled and will receive $8700 per month as a disability payment as well as $45,000 a year from his congressional pension, a total of about $150K per year.

Is this a great country or what?

By the way, I have had a rather substantial "mood disorder disability" ever since Obama got elected in 2008. I have not committed any felonies, have not been convicted and sentenced to prison and I don't get squat - other than a higher and higher tax bill every year and the privilege of watching our federal deficit grow every day of the year.

In sum:

Jesse Jackson Jr. to Grab $8,700 Per Month in Disability, Plus Pension In Prison
Illinois, right?
