ObamaCare as Doomed as HillaryCare?

Post  News Hawk on Sun Oct 13, 2013 1:08 pm

The media is full of interesting stats and information concerning the Affordable Care Act. It’s mind bending, but, Secy Sebelius, the head of the entire show actually had the stones to claim that while it is true that there have been many problems with the ultra-expensive software supplied by a Canadian company, that the roll out is going pretty good. She noted that at least 13 million people had visited the site, and yet she claimed that she was unable to tell us how many people had been able to sign up. How curious! Can you actually believe that Team Obama does not know how many people have signed up? I can’t. Either they are lying or abysmally inept.

You can be damn sure that the Apple CEO, Tim Cook, knows what his daily sales are. You can be damn sure that Jeff Bezos knows the exact, precise traffic on Amazon each and every minute. You can bet the farm that Amazon works. Do you have even a scintilla of doubt that Mark Zuckerberg knows how many people access Facebook each and every minute of every day, and what his ad sales are? Private enterprise works, it works damned well. Government nearly always screws it up.

Don’t despair, the knowledge is out there. At least two sources inside the Department of Health and Human Services, at great risk, provided the media with a look at the earliest enrollment numbers. The sources are career civil servants who are responsible for data processing within the agency. They reported that during the first day only 6,200 were signed up. To say that the system is “problem plagued” is to guild a turd.

As of 10/10, it was reported that only 51,000 persons had signed up. That is disastrously lower than Team Obama expectations. They are counting on least 7 million enrollees by the end of the 6-month open enrollment period to keep Obamacare financially afloat. At this rate, total national enrollment would be approximately 2 million, including state-run exchanges. That’s only 1/3rd the enrollment needed, the ACA is doomed. Put another way, the damn thing is going broke even before it gets started. The ACA is massively screwed up and its rules and regs get changed like underwear. For example the latest surprise came this week, when the Associated Press reported that individuals will have to obtain insurance coverage by mid-February in order to avoid an IRS penalty.

USA Today is reporting that hospitals are firing thousands of health care workers because of Obamacare.

Health care providers announced more layoffs than any other industry last month
— 8,128 — mostly because of reductions by hospitals, according to outplacement firm Challenger, Gray and Christmas. So far this year, the health care sector has announced 41,085 layoffs, the third-most behind financial and industrial companies. Even the Cleveland Clinic is being forced to shave its annual operating costs by $330 million. The ACA has struck doctors especially hard. Throngs of private practitioners have begun refusing Medicare and Medicaid patients because of substantial reductions in M/M payments, many are giving up the practice of medicine. They simply feel that they can’t afford it. A very recent Deloitte Survey of U.S. Physicians found that “six in 10 physicians (62 percent) said it is likely many of their colleagues will retire earlier than planned in the next one to three years.”

The American public is becoming more and more aware that for many, if not most people, the ACA will actually increase the cost of their health care. A huge segment of our population will be forced to take on an expense that they had not previously had or needed. Health care insurance. The ACA was sold as snake oil. The American public was led to believe that it would provide “free” health care. It doesn’t. You must buy ACA approved insurance. None of the policies will pay for the full cost of medical treatment. Typically they will pay only about 60% of the cost of medical care that you recieve.

Of course we all know that the roll out of the ACA has been an unmitigated disaster. Nearly 2 weeks into the mess, Team Obama either can’t or won’t tell us how many people have signed up. That beggars belief.

You obviously have a problem with reading comprehension! The article lays blame on the sequester and the fact that 26 states refused the Medicaid expansion, as well as Medicare reductions for poorly performing hospitals under the Affordable Care Act. The article also concludes that the layoffs will be temporary once the Affordable Care Act is completely up and running. You right wingers really shovel a lot of horse manure in an effort to undermine Obama and the Affordable Care Act. (which you won't!)

Speaking of which, has anybody noticed if the colonoscopy place on Union Street has closed? Somebody told me they had. The Dr. did say that when Obamacare came in, he was going out.

If Obama were merely incompetent, he would occasionally make a mistake in America’s favor.

"The technical disasters of the Obamacare exchange debacle over the past two weeks are not an accident, but rather a way to disguise the costs of healthcare plans and weed out people who don’t qualify for a federal subsidy, Forbes reports.

Tech experts examining the Obamacare federal health exchange, Healthcare.gov, are becoming increasingly convinced that the traffic bottlenecks and site crashes experienced over the first two weeks were not by accident, wrote Forbes.
