A dishonest presidency - Page 5 Empty Here's another nail.

Post  fshnski Fri Dec 06, 2013 7:07 pm

House Republicans released emails Friday that suggest the Obama administration knew as early as August that the small-business exchange tied to Obamacare would not be ready on time.

“Despite this knowledge, the Obama administration waited to finalize the delay until November 27, as Americans across the country were off celebrating Thanksgiving with their loved ones,” the Energy and Commerce Committee said in a press release.

The emails from between July 26 and Aug. 13 suggested the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services knew the federal insurance marketplace, or SHOP, that assists firms of less than 50 workers would not be available until mid-November at best. But they said at the time it would be ready Oct. 1 and did not announce any type of delay until late September.

A dishonest presidency - Page 5 Empty Obama lied about Syrian chemical attack, ‘cherry-picked’ intelligence

Post  fshnski Mon Dec 09, 2013 11:57 am

The Obama administration quashed intelligence reports that suggested an al Qaeda-linked group could have been responsible for the sarin gas attack carried out in Syria last August, according to a news report published in London on Sunday.

In threatening a U.S. military strike on Syria during the weeks that followed after the Aug. 21 chemical attack, President Obama and Secretary of State John F. Kerry cited “definitive” evidence that Syrian President Bashar Assad had been responsible for the incident.

What they kept secret, according to an article by Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, was the belief of U.S. spy agencies that military forces loyal to Mr. Assad were not ones in Syria’s civil war to have access to sarin.

“In the months before the attack, the American intelligence agencies produced a series of highly classified reports, culminating in a formal ‘Operations Order’ — a planning document that precedes a ground invasion — citing evidence that the al-Nusra Front, a jihadi group affiliated with al Qaeda, had master the mechanics of creating sarin and was capable of manufacturing it in quantity,” Mr. Hersh wrote in the London Review of Books.

The al-Nusra Front was officially designated a “foreign terrorist organization by the Obama administration last year and should have been a suspect, according to the Hersh article.

Instead, in order to solidify a White House narrative that Mr. Assad had crossed Mr. Obama’s “red line” by using chemical weapons, the Obama administration “cherry-picked intelligence to justify a strike against Assad,” the article claims.

As of Monday, the White House had not responded to the article, which provides backing for Russian claims that the Syrian rebels were behind the deadly August attack
U.S. officials have said more than 1,400 people, the majority of them innocent civilians, were killed in the attack.

This should be the best Christmas we have had in a while. With the $2,500 dollars we will save with obamacare we are finally going to be able to fix our house. You can't believe what a relief that is.

A dishonest presidency - Page 5 Empty Obamacare puts insurance coverage in decline by 14-to-1 margin

Post  fshnski Tue Dec 17, 2013 4:12 pm

By now it should be clear to all that the lies used to sell Obamacare were not minor and not accidental.

Yet media coverage remains kind, treating each distortion as an isolated and unintended error, not as big lies within a grand deception.

Many Americans continue to resist seeing the big picture because they don’t want to admit how badly they’ve been duped. It violates their patriotic high regard for the office of the presidency. And it hurts to admit you were so gullible to believe all the outlandish promises that now are falling apart.

As outrageous and as expensive as it is, the healthcare.gov website is only a symptom of Obamacare’s problems; it’s not the cause. It’s the outrageous costs that continue to stop people from buying the new policies.

You cannot add so many mandatory new insurance features, plus burden purchasers with subsidizing others, without adding major costs. Obama persists with happy-talk low-ball hucksterism, asking people to look at selective low premiums for some, ignoring high premiums for most, plus high deductibles and co-pays for almost everyone.

The result?

To offset the 7 million who have lost their individual insurance policies, the total enrollees in Obamacare plans — state and federal combined — are a mere 364,000 through November.

Add about 100,000 more enrollees in the first half of December, and it’s still a 14-1 ratio of people losing insurance compared to those gaining insurance. Plus taxpayers must pick up the tab for over 800,000 who have signed up for the expansion of Medicaid that was part of Obamacare.

Millions of Americans are saying, “I told you so.” Others are in a state of shock. They’ve been double-crossed. Younger Americans in particular find they’ve been singled-out to bear a disproportionate share of the costs, and they’re rapidly falling out of love with Obama.

Ignoring the billions lost to Medicare fraud, millions of Americans will get America's Capital "redistributed" to startup agencies dealing in a brand-new bureaucracy.

Someone should ask how he feels about General Benedict Arnold, whose leap towards Absolutism could have resulted in "Fundamental Change" for America.

A dishonest presidency - Page 5 Empty Big majorities say government more corrupt, less transparent under Obama

Post  fshnski Fri Dec 27, 2013 10:53 am

More than three-fourths of Americans are worried about government corruption, and 52 percent of those surveyed believe it has worsened in the past five years, according to a new survey released today.

The worries about government corruption span the ideological spectrum, with 68 percent of Democrats expressing a high level of concern, along with 75 percent of Independents and 88 percent of Republicans.

Only 20 percent of those surveyed professed little or no concern about the issue, according to the survey that was conducted for Judicial Watch and Breitbart News by The Opinion Company/Women Trends Dec. 13-16.

The survey included interviews with 1,000 adults, with 65 percent of the interviews conducted on landlines and 35 percent on cell phones. There is a three-percent margin of error.

Other highlights of the survey results include:

— Government's ability to self-police corruption is seen as declining: "A 52 percent majority of Americans think the government is actually doing a worse job at policing corruption in Washington, D.C, in the past five years, while just 18 percent think the government is doing better.

"An equal number of Democrats say corruption has worsened (33 percent) as say it has improved (33 percent) during their party’s control of the White House."

— Voter fraud is a major unaddressed problem: "Three-quarters, 75 percent, of adults recognize voter fraud as a problem in the United States, including 36 percent who believe it is a 'major' problem and 39 percent who think it is a minor problem.

"The percentage of adults who consider it a problem remains at above 70 percent among males and females; whites, blacks, and Hispanics; and all age brackets from 18 to over 65. Only 15 percent think voter fraud is not a problem."

— Where's the transparency? "When campaigning for the presidency in 2008, Barack Obama promised to have the most transparent government in history. Yet, a 41 percent plurality of Americans now believe the federal government is actually 'less transparent' since Obama became president.

"Four-out-of-five adults, 80 percent, do not recognize any improvement during President Obama’s tenure, compared with just 16 percent who say it is 'more transparent.'”

— Leave health care policy to the states: "Adults are more than twice as likely to be confident in their state government’s ability to handle healthcare issues, 44 percent, than the federal government, 18 percent – although a separate 27 percent of respondents volunteered 'neither of the above.'”

"Trust in the state government is highest among those under the age of 45, at 48 percent, and lowest among blacks at 24 percent."

— Enforce the immigration laws on the books: "A plurality of Americans, 49 percent, believe that the U.S. should enforce immigration laws currently on the books and expect illegal immigrants to return to their homes rather than changing the law to provide legal status for illegal immigrants already here.

"The majority of those aged 45 to 54, 52 percent, favor enforcing current laws, as do those making $35,000 to $50,000 a year, 51 percent. A full 71 percent of Republicans support enforcing immigration laws, with 21 percent in favor of changing them."

“The Judicial Watch-Breitbart poll shows that the American people are thoroughly disenchanted with a government they see as corrupt and secretive,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

“The support for the rule of law on immigration runs against the establishment narrative pretending there is overwhelming support for mass amnesty.

"On a host of issues — ranging from corruption to transparency, to election integrity, to Obamacare — President Obama is completely out of touch with the American people,” Fitton said.

There are too many people that have so personally attached themselves to Obama, that even if they know in their hearts and minds he is causing great harm to the nation, they will not admit his failure. Doing so would be admitting failure in themselves.

I think your'e right. There are many people that are emotionally involved with obama. Why the left chose this guy to be their first black president leaves me shaking my head. What were his qualifications? Why did the Democrats think obama was the best black person in the entire country to handle such a difficult and complicated job? There had to be hundreds if not thousands of blacks that were better qualified. Now they are trying to put a square peg in a round whole. Obama has stumbled and bumbled over every opportunity that he has had to be Presidential and the left is still trying to tell us what we see with our own two eyes is not the truth.

A dishonest presidency - Page 5 Empty State Dept. whistleblower has email hacked, deleted

Post  fshnski Mon Dec 30, 2013 3:08 pm

WASHINGTON — The personal e-mail account of a State Department whistleblower was hacked, and four years worth of messages — some detailing alleged wrongdoing at the agency — were deleted, The Post has learned.

The computer attack targeted the Gmail account of Diplomatic Security Service criminal investigator Richard Higbie, his lawyer, Cary Schulman, confirmed.

“They took all of his e-mails and then they deleted them all,” said Schulman. He said that he could not prove who was responsible for the hack job, but said the attack was “sophisticated” and called the targeting of Higbie “alarming.”

“Obviously, somebody is not happy with something he’s doing and wanted to get that information and also cause him an inability in the future to have ready access to that,” Schulman said.

The e-mails included evidence about misconduct by top officials at the department, communications with other potential whistleblowers there, and correspondence with members of Congress who are investigating the allegations, Schulman said.

They also include correspondence between Higbie and Schulman about legal strategy, the lawyer said.

Schulman said he could not provide details about the evidence deleted with the e-mails.

Higbie has asked the FBI in Dallas, where he lives, to investigate the hacking, which occurred this month.

Higbie played a key role in helping fellow whistleblower Aurelia Fedenisn, a former investigator for the department’s inspector general, reveal in June a pattern of alleged coverups by top department officials.

The alleged coverups included keeping quiet separate IG investigations that found that members of then-Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton’s security detail had engaged hookers and that the Belgian ambassador had solicited underage prostitutes.

These were among a string of investigations by the service, responsible for protecting dignitaries and investigating crimes within the department, that were allegedly derailed by senior officials, including one instance of interference by Clinton Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills.

Since the revelations in June, the department again mostly swept the cases under the rug.

Higbie, a senior criminal investigator and the second-highest-ranking agent with the service’s Dallas office, also has an employment lawsuit against the department, alleging it retaliated against him.

The hacking of Higbie’s e-mail follows a mysterious break-in at Schulman’s Dallas law firm in July, shortly after the whistleblower allegations came to light.
The burglar sawed a hole through the wall from an adjoining office and stole three computers, but left behind other valuables.

Although cops arrested a petty thief for the crime, Schulman said, “We feel like we’re in a movie. It’s nuts. It makes us wonder . . . . maybe we’ve got something we don’t even realize or maybe they’re worried about something.”

A dishonest presidency - Page 5 Empty Joke’s on us: WH now says 7M never ‘target number’ for Obamacare

Post  fshnski Tue Dec 31, 2013 12:52 pm

White House health care adviser Phil Schiliro said Tuesday that a goal of seven million people signing up for health insurance by the end of March was “never our target number,” attempting to downplay a figure that has been circulated for months.

“That was never our target number,” Mr. Schiliro said on MSNBC. “That was a target that was put out by the Congressional Budget Office and has become the accepted number.”

In June, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius said the administration was “hopeful that seven million is a realistic target.” In an interview with NBC News a day before HealthCare.gov launched Oct. 1, Mrs. Sebelius said that “I think success looks like at least seven million people having signed up by the end of March 2014.”
