In 2010 Obama wrote a change into the ACA to invalidate the grandfather clause which was supposed to allow people to keep their health insurance, and even while knowing this, Obama went on for three years lying to everyone that we could keep our insurance.

Section 1251 of the Affordable Care Act contains what’s called a “grandfather” provision that, in theory, allows people to keep their existing plans if they like them. But subsequent regulations from the Obama administration interpreted that provision so narrowly as to prevent most plans from gaining this protection.

“The Departments" mid-range estimate is that 66 percent of small employer plans and 45 percent of large employer plans will relinquish their grandfather status by the end of 2013,” wrote the administration on page 34552 of the Register. All in all, more than half of employer-sponsored plans will lose their “grandfather status” and become illegal. According to the Congressional Budget Office, 156 million Americans—more than half the population—was covered by employer-sponsored insurance in 2013.

The key word there is ILLEGAL. As in ILLEGAL for insurance companys to sell at any price.

A web site don't get much further to the left than talking points memo. The whole intention of TPM is to spin, spin, spin.

Neither the Republicans or the insurance companies benefit from obamacare. Tell me how they are working together. I know the insurance companies donate about a third more to the Republicans than to the Democrats, but how can you say they are working together?

It was about insurance companies suckering clients into renewing early at a great personal expense before they could get a look at the exchanges to find their discounts and tax credits! Is it spin, spin, spin when the state of Washington sent out a consumer alert and the state of Kentucky fined Humana Insurance for the deceptive practices? Are you trying to say that TPM lied about the actions by those states? Do really think the NY Post's message will resonate when people find out how much cheaper their insurance can be? Laughing

I could not have said it better. Thank you for another great lesson in how insurance companies work. The republican shenanigans, and the insurance crooks are doing everything they can do to make Obamacare fail, but it won't work.

Addendums to contracts are often put as footnotes with references to other documents. Everyone knows the ACA was coming out. How do people not check it out before resigning a health insurance form? That is like blaming Verizon for not telling you that AT&T has a better alternative when you renew your cell phone contract.

Putting information in footnotes is now considered a scam? Who signs something that important without knowing what they are signing? Oh yeah that right, the freakin Democrats and Obama when they signed this disaster into law.

As for being cheaper… That is not what is being reported, Forbes has an average increase of $7,450.00 for a typical family of four.

With all due respect, ignoring the truth to stay loyal to one’s party only makes those that do so look uninformed and foolish.

Here is another story about the Republican's darling, Dianne Barrette. She was the star of the Obama lied story because her $57 a month policy was being cancelled by her insurance company. It turns out that she can sign up for a Bronze policy which will cost her about $100 a month after her tax credit. Here is the kicker: Her $57 a month policy provided no coverage for hospitalization, where the Bronze policy will. There is a deductible and out of pocket expense, no doubt about that, but if Ms Barrette has to go into the hospital for serious surgery, lets say that will cost $100 thousand, her out of pocket expense under Obamacare will be about $6,200. Under her $57 policy her out of pocket expense would have been $100 thousand.

Now what's a better policy; a $57 policy that could cost $100 thousand for a hospitalization, or a $100 policy that would cost $6,200 for a hospitalization? I had a friend who ran up a $450 thousand bill in Sloan-Kettering in New York before he died in 2002. It would have destroyed his family if he didn't have health insurance!

I am sure there must be a few out there that will be helped by Obamacare. But you must remember they are being helped at the expense of other taxpayers. They are being subsidized because they cannot afford it. Overall I do not think the ACP commonly known as Obamacare is a very good plan and will hurt about 80% of the people and help 20%. And the 20 it helps will be getting that help at the expense of the other 80. I am so sick of going back and forth on this same thing. Let's talk about something different.

I agree with you WHL. As a suggestion, how about limiting the number of post per day for each member. We could all voice our opinion and then maybe come to an agreement. I think 5 should be the max. That way maybe some members will put more thought into their posts.
