It looked like a cloudy day. Did it end up raining that day?

A cloudy day isn't made better by a bunch of noisy boats racing around.

But there was at least, a drizzle, as I recall.

Great actually. I was elected to a the board of a prominent boating club that is a charitable organization that provide scholarships to local under privledged high schoolers looking to move forward with higher education. Been very very busy with the family. Made it up to Disney to run the half marathon earlier this month. Off on a few business trips to the west coast and lots and lots of visitors. Many family members and friends looking to escape the cold. For us, it actually has been chilly here this past week. Had to wear long sleeves for the first time.

Winter Harbor has been host to at least four kid's camps.

How do you feel about organizing a noisy race that could have tragic consequences?

Keep the hazards in Paugus Bay, if you want.

Has been? So because something was there people should avoid to use their recreational boats in a legal manner?

No calls the MP. No complaints. No illegal activity. No illegal noise statutes broken... But because many years ago there were"camps" they should take their legal activities elsewhere? As long as it is not in your back yard right?

What a tool.

Very much so. I am coming back this summer. Most likely I will leave the boat here however. I have friends that have said I can borrow their boat or hitch rides with them while I am visiting. Hopefully we can make arrangements to say hello.

I will apparently have to watch what "type" of boat I come into winter harbor on though. Apparently there was a spotted owl seen there three decades ago so we wouldn't want to disturb that.

I wouldn't worry about it. There are all kinds of boats that come in there (as you know) and there will always be someone who doesn't like one kind or another. Some hate the kayaks and canoes and sailboats and other hate the fast boats. You can't win.

I think your videos are a waste of time and insulting to all the boats on Lake Winnipesaukee.

They aren't doing anything wrong and aren't even near your cherished piece of property.

APS is delusional once again. Looking at Winni.com you have absolutely no support. Frankly you were shot down with your precious little video that showed nothing. People again began ignoring you and moved back to the topic of the thread.

The Labor Day run was legal and your video shows no issues. Frankly it shows that the performance boaters that were involved demonstrated that they are responsible and conducted themselves in a way conducive to what recreational boaters should be doing: enjoying themselves. Unfortunately for you it took place in "your backyard".

After all the complaining about nothing the entire off season do you honestly think your little video will be a deterrent? You only bring this upon yourself it seems.

We are looking to gather a group in winter harbor at noon on Sunday, boat a defined route around the lake and passing into winter harbor a few times and then ending at nazbar. The sl friends are in winter harbor and would enjoy a showing of louder faster boats obeying the local laws.

Post if any interest.

The above, from offshoreonly.com, seems to suggest that you were targeted NH. Real mature, eh? Show your support for a cause you believe in and you'll be taught a lesson. It's no wonder this group of boaters has such a P.R. problem. Falure to police themselves brought us to where we are now and they have no one to blame but themselves..

And not entirely by coincidence.

sumrluvr wrote:You only bring this upon yourself it seems.

As do you. Perhaps we should be grateful for this kind of occasional stunt. It highlights the immaturity and thuggery of certain boaters and keeps things in perspective as to why new laws are sometimes needed.

How is doing something completely legal thuggury?

No calls to the MP, No complaints. I am not sure who that is (as I was even in FL and not even there) but the video he keeps posting on countless forums trying to get a rise out of people I believe is more of an act of thuggury. Trying to stir the pot against a certain "type" of boat for enjoying themselves.

It would have never even been brought up if it weren't for his continuous rants about how they were scofflaws. However there is not one shred of evidence to show differently. So why keep showing the film and saying otherwise?

I now have a newer camera with sharper imaging. I'd like to show the damage from Scott's "Trojan Horse Bill".

The "Trojan Horse Bill" was never intended to keep Ocean-Racers quiet at night (entering a marina), or around Winnipesaukee's thousands of bay, cove, and harbor residences.

BTW: Didn't you think the white Donzi won?

It would be nice to see this so called evidence with you new camera. I only hope you also are filming from the many marinas and public docks whereby people have thanked us for the change to the law. They as do the owners of performance boats enjoy being able to quiet their engines down (which are already under the legal limit) so not to deter from the enjoyment of others.

Also how can a Donzi win? It wasn't a race and no laws were broken. From your logic does that mean any boat that is in front of another is racing?

Lastly, you posted earlier on this forum that you do not provide links to other competitive forums. However you just did? Also how is providing a link to yet another post by you constitute evidence or data to the opposite? Funny the Marine Patrol also does not agree with you assessment.

Winning would constitute a race and a start and finish..

A. since from your video it shows there wasn't one.
B. since I am in FL how would I know.. You were there. Please explain how you witnessed a sactioned race? Please show us where there were monitors at a finish line.

Here are the "sketches" of what camps might have been like in WH:

http://www.wyanoke.com/newforum/viewtopic.php?p=1752#1752

We should make sure these are included in all charts going forward so boaters know what "could" have been there and why they should avoid there area.

Don't you think so NH?
