Here is another reason why cursive is important to learn.
A suspect in an attempted bank robbery needed to spend more time crossing the i’s and dotting the t’s before launching his plan.
Maybe then it would have been legible.
Police in Antioch, Calif., said Jamal Garrett’s plan to rob a Wells Fargo using a note was foiled Monday when the teller couldn’t understand it.
The suspect entered the bank at 9:45 a.m. and handed a teller the note without speaking, police said.
The teller couldn’t read the note because of poor handwriting and asked a manager for help, police said.
That’s when Garrett abandoned his scheme and left the bank.
But the manager and teller continued to look at the piece of paper and finally concluded he had attempted to rob the bank. They then called police.
Officers searched the area but couldn’t find the suspect.
Then a short time later police received a call about an unwanted person at a local shopping center that turned out to be the suspect.
Bank employees identified Garrett who was taken to jail on attempted robbery and an outstanding warrant for a parole violation.
A bank manager declined comment to the Daily News Wednesday.

I think the idea was given up. The kids will learn how to write after all.
