House GOP Pulls Border Bill

Post  News Buzzard on Thu Jul 31, 2014 4:33 pm

The GOP can't get anything done:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/house-gop-leaders-spike-border-bill-rather-than-see-it-defeated/2014/07/31/1b720ff2-18e0-11e4-9e3b-7f2f110c6265_story.html?hpid=z1

On one side of his mouth Boehner is criticizing Obama for not acting on his own, and on the other side of his mouth he is suing Obama for acting on his own. That's pathetic!!!

The border bill was rejected by republicans AND democrats... Why bring it to a vote when no political party was willing to commit to it? The Republicans in the House are telling Obama to enforce our current laws and the country is solidly behind that idea.

How did you miss "Refusal to faithfully execute our laws"?

Absolutely no one is stopping Obama from doing that. It was his actions that brought them here. He caused the problem; it is his job to fix it by enforcing our borders.

By the way, the law suit is about Obamacare. Let's not confuse the facts.

Why should the Democrats support any unreasonable bill by the Republicans, and which party controls the House?

Why is Senator Ted Cruz running roughshod over the Republicans in the House?

John Boehner has to be one of the weakest Speakers of the House who lets a fringe lunatic, US Senator Ted Cruz, control his caucus! It's a good thing that Boehner suggested that Obama act on his own to solve the immigration crisis. I guess today is an even day. Boehner sues Obama on odd days!!!!      Rolling Eyes

Because the House needs a leader—and they don't have one?

Exactly New Hawk

The bill was essentially the funding authorization that the House last year refused to give to Obama for his "Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals" program, which started as a memorandum for prosecutorial discretion, but is basically the Dream Act for any illegal under 31.

No legislation, just marching orders to DHS and INS to halt deportation proceedings if the person meets a set of criteria. In other words, amnesty via the stroke of a pen. He not only waives existing federal law, but House and Senate Dems keep trying to get funding for the estimated half million illegals amnestied via this "memorandum".

That's what Cruz was railing against, because Boehner had acquiesced and included funding for, thus implicit agreement with and approval of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. Had they signed yesterday's bill, every Republican in the House that would have voted yes would have been exactly guilty of voting yes to giving and funding amnesty.

So it's OK that the House Of Representatives is hijacked by a right wing conservative senator, who in turn wants to hijack the country?

Personally I don’t care who stopped it, left or right wing. If you were honest, neither would you. You said this was a bad bill, you just want to play politics and blame others for Obama’s failures.

You would rather attack conservatives than get to the real issue. The role of any President, as required by our U.S. Constitution, is to secure and protect our nation's borders.

Your precious and lawless "leader" is not committed to this. He wants amnesty for illegals and turns a blind eye to potential terrorists entering our country. Democrats are more interested in a political victory than they are in the safety of Americans.

Obama's "Dreamers" EO screwed the pooch, by giving the false impression that “permisos” were available for any who could complete the journey.

Right now, there are limited controls on our Southern border. It is just a matter of time, before disease, epidemic, bomb(s), terrorists, or gangs gets through the sieve.

We are not talking if, but when.

Take off your partisan blinders.

Please spare me the nonsense! The Senate passed a comprehensive immigration reform bill last year, and the House should get off their duffs and do the same. It's too bad that the weakling Republicans in the House have become the puppets of House Speaker, Senator Ted Cruz. All of your ramblings are just jibberish!

Let he without sin...

No

Found this quote just now...

Obama's gotten himself into a corner. EVERYONE knows he caused this.
And the Republicans aren't going to bail him out.

There's not a damn thing he can do unilaterally.

The king has no clothes.

The pen has no ink.

His phone has no signal...

The REPUBLICAN House passed an immigration bill last night. But do you think the DEMOCRATIC Senate and Obama will see that it gets passed? NO. NO, NO, WHO is the part of NO?
