question regardin the time stamp

Post  obervantone on Wed Nov 05, 2014 12:31 pm

When I am logged in the time stamps on the various posts are correct (I adjusted it on my profile page shortly after EST took effect) but when I am not logged in the time stamp is 2 hours ahead of the actual time, why?

The time was off by two hours yesterday. I was logged in.

Suspect

I don't ever look at the time so had no idea it was wrong. Do you know how long it has been wrong? I looked a bit but don't see any place to correct the time. We will have to leave it up to Admin. Sorry.

If, at the change setting clocks "back", Admin moved the clock forward, it would be wrong by 2 hours. My time is 9:24 presently.

Look under profile preference, you'll find the time zone setting but it seems to be a little weird, just pick an eastern time zone from the drop down menu (-5)

That would be fine if I could find profile preference. Where would that be?

I did find timezone under configuration but there was no choice for US, just places like Asia and Africa, so I tried Bermuda time. But it looks like it didn't work. I saw no choice for DST either. I don't like to fool around too much since it's not my forum. I think I will wait for Admin.

OK, another look and I found NY time, changed it, clicked save and it looks like it still didn't work.
