No "bugs" were found by a private firm that "swept" the room.WHL wrote:The Dems are spying on the Repubs?
The meeting included just six "Loyalists"; maybe one wasn't so "loyal".
The magazine says:
"...We are still waiting for Sen. Mitch McConnell to comment on the substance of the story,” the statement read. “Before posting this article, we contacted his Senate office and his campaign office—in particular, his campaign manager, Jesse Benton—and no one responded. As the story makes clear, we were recently provided the tape by a source who wished to remain anonymous. We were not involved in the making of the tape, but we published a story on the tape due to its obvious newsworthiness. It is our understanding that the tape was not the product of a Watergate-style bugging operation. We cannot comment beyond that.”

Style?
Suspecting that Cuba was giving financial support to Democrats, Gordon Liddy, with a handful of Cuban Exiles, tripped the locks and photographed documents. No bugs were left in either of the two break-ins.
Re: Watergate??
It makes you wonder why Watergate was such a big deal, doesn't it? Like that stuff doesn't happen all the time...

Re: Watergate??
The difference is: today…it is not reported.
Obama put out his budget (almost 3 months late).
It calls for increasing taxes on the rich by 6 trillion over ten years and reduction to the deficit (not debt) of 1.6 trillion. Do the math…his budget is a spending INCREASE.
Will the media point this out? Of course not.
He is also calling for a reduction in Social Security benefits? Where is Poppatuff?

Re: Watergate??
I guess it depends on what aspect of the story you focus on...possible illegal wiretapping which will now be investigated by the FBI, or the substance of what was said by McConnell and his aides. Here is APs take:

Re: Watergate??
I heard the tape and prefer to think for myself. While I am no fan of McConnell, I have no problem with what he and his staff said about Judd. History has taught us: Vetting is important. If one must be sane to get a gun, its probably a good idea too apply the same standard to a Senator.
By her own words, she is unstable.

Re: Watergate??
Where does the MSM get its photographs?
There must be thousands of the Senator!
At work, is Commie Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals pamphlet...They did the same ridicule-thing to President Ronald Reagan.
Re: Watergate??
Good point, NH. It reminds me of that guy that shot Gabby Giffords (?). The very first picture they put on tv of him was of a pretty nice looking guy. Then they dug up that one with no hair and the scary look on his face and not once again did I see that first picture.

And when it was—the case of Gingrich's cellphone being monitored—it got swept under the rug.

Welcome to this forum.
I have to admit your prior contributions [elsewhere] kept me busy—with the documentation that should have been there in the first place!
