"The search warrant filed to investigate the Fox News reporter James Rosen proved as many had suspected: President Obama wants to make it a crime for a reporter to talk to a leaker. It is a further example of how President Obama will surely pass President Richard Nixon as the worst president ever on issues of national security and press freedom.

"The government's subpoena of The Associated Press's phone records was bad enough. But the disclosure of the search warrant in the Rosen case shows President Obama has delved into territory never before reached by previous presidents.

How'd this get on paper?

That paper just turned against Obama:

"An editorial published late Thursday said the administration was using the "same platitude" it uses in every case of overreach -- that "terrorists are a real menace and you should just trust us." The editorial continued: "Those reassurances have never been persuasive -- whether on secret warrants to scoop up a news agency's phone records or secret orders to kill an American suspected of terrorism -- especially coming from a president who once promised transparency and accountability. The administration has now lost all credibility."

"The editorial board claimed Obama "is proving the truism that the executive will use any power it is given and very likely abuse it."

—NYTs via FOX News

"The jaws of power are always open to devour, and her arm is always stretched out, if possible, to destroy the freedom of thinking, speaking, and writing."
—JOHN ADAMS

What "Big Brother"?

Hark!

Not to be outdone, the formerly servile Washington Post:

"And the United States, whose bystander president, having declared that Assad must go, that he has lost all legitimacy and that his fall is just a matter of time, is looking not just feckless but clueless."

I think that proves as I had previously said that people are starting to back away from him.

NY Times—The Crack Enlarges... Empty Feckless, Clueless, Abuse Power, Lost All Credibility...???

Post  News Hawk Fri Jun 07, 2013 9:44 am

Did either of those two rags refer to a previous President as "looking not just feckless but clueless", "abuse its power", and having "lost all credibility"?

Shocked This is an overwhelming realization for the "Pravda Press". Surprised

I'll suppose News Buzzard will suggest they've misprinted all the key words?

MSNBC's Martin Bashir, sometimes known as the thinking man's Piers Morgan:

"Bashir denounced Rep. Darrell Issa and other congressional Republicans investigating the Internal Revenue Service's efforts to stifle Obama's political opponents during Obama's re-election campaign.

"Bashir said: "Despite the complete lack of any evidence linking the President to the targeting of Tea Party groups, Republicans are using it as their latest weapon in the war against the black man in the White House."

You decide:

"“…there are different kinds of surveillance states. You can have a democratic surveillance state which collects as little data as possible and tells you as much as possible about what it’s doing. Or you could have an authoritarian surveillance state which collects as much as possible and tells the public as little as possible. And we are kind of on the authoritarian side.”
NYTs Paul Krugman

An example of an authoritarian surveillance state would be East Germany's Stasi.

Shocked

How far Obama has brought the USA.
