Re: Hassan budget plan includes expanded gambling
I guess it doesn't bother me much either way the vote goes. As I said before, I just hate to see other states get money that WE could have.

I'll sit back and watch this "Race to the Bottom."WHL wrote:As I said before, I just hate to see other states get money that WE could have.

Man said he was taken for a ride at carnival.
Henry Gribbohm Jr. said on Saturday evening, he got caught up in a carnival game called Tubs of Fun set up outside the JFK Coliseum in Manchester. Before he knew it, he had handed over $300.
"They explained to me I was going to get all my money back, I was going to get an Xbox Kinect, and because I was keeping everybody's attention, they were still going to give me a banana. They lied to me," said Gribbohm.
But at the time, Gribbohm said he was focused on winning what he now believes was an unwinnable game.
"The ball just bounces right out, there's really no way of doing it. But when you're throwing it in at first, it just sinks right in, there's no issue at all. You get eight balls, seven mistakes, it's foolproof. There's no way, the guy's telling me just keep people interested, man, I'll give you your money back," said Gribbohm.
He said he drove home to Epsom and returned to the carnival with more than $2,000 in cash. In the end, he said he spent $2,600 and never won the game.
He said he returned the next day to ask for his money back, and was given $600 and a stuffed banana with dreadlocks.
Manchester police said detectives have been unable to locate the carnival employee working the Tubs of Fun game.
Fiesta Shows told investigators Gribbohm spent far less than $2,600.
"It's a joke. That's a joke. I got witnesses that I know. Witnesses that were at the carnival that don't know me that don't know the carnival, have nothing to do with it," said Gribbohm.
News 9 spoke with an onsite manager at Fiesta Shows' latest setup location in Derry. He said he was aware of Gribbohm's claim, but could not discuss it.

Company reveals plans for Salem casino
CONCORD, N.H. —A gaming company has released plans for a proposed casino at Rockingham Park in Salem.
illennium Gaming on Tuesday unveiled sketches of a multimillion-dollar complex it hopes to build if the state approves expanded gambling and if the company wins a license that would then be up for bid.
The plans were created by architect David Climans.
"We did not want to come in and design something that was foreign," Climans said. "This will feel like it fits and like it's always been there. That was the intention."
Someone pulling into the complex from Rockingham Boulevard would see an elaborate fountain with columns marking the entrance. Climans said the casino would feel sophisticated and comfortable.
"You can see the elaborate ceilings and lighting and all of the various decor that will complement the entire facility," he said.
What was originally slated to be a $450 million project now comes with a price tag closer to $750 million in private investment dollars, according to the developer. From the grandstand to the barns and the track, all of it would be rebuilt.
