Cruz is right on
Cruz took to Rush Limbaugh's airwaves just minutes after ending his Senate floor speech to slam his GOP colleagues as "defeatists".
I agree with Cruz, the GOP are just cowardly "defeatists".

I agree with Cruz. I believe this was a lost opportunity for the Republicans to make a statement. The majority of Americans don't want obamacare. Where is our representation?

Unfortunately, I think you have a point. If you don't have the balls to stand up for what is right you deserve what you get.
Pardon my French.

The Affordable Care Act and mandated health insurance was an idea cooked up by a Republican think tank, Heritage Foundation, first promoted by one of the most vile Republicans out there, Newt Gingrich and first signed into law by a Republican, Mitt Romney, in Massachusetts.Casy wrote:Good point, the republicans are just a bunch of cowards and always have been. Do some research and get your head out of your ass.
Your democrat hero is nothing more than Bush 2.0.

I have no objection to healthcare laws passed by a state.Anti Federalist wrote:Your democrat hero is nothing more than Bush 2.0.
My objection would be to healthcare laws passed by The State.
Seen from the perspective of the U. S. Constitution, RomneyCare isn't close to being ObamaCare.

From a Federalist, "state's rights" perspective, that's true.News Hawk wrote:I have no objection to healthcare laws passed by a state.Anti Federalist wrote:Your democrat hero is nothing more than Bush 2.0.

The fact remains however that the ACA is, essentially, RomneyCare on a national level.
I knew it was a dangerous precedent, once having passed, and knew it would only be a matter of time before being passed nationally.
My Cassandra instincts were right, yet again.
The State could never have resisted the twin plums of total health care surveillance and the huge grab of power that came with the, now established law, ability to force people to buy things they do not want.

Didn't Bill (with Hillary in charge) try to get it passed before Romneycare?
