Even Oprah isn’t on board with ObamaCare
As the White House was gearing up to sell ObamaCare to the American people last summer, Valerie Jarrett, the president’s pointwoman on a host of issues, phoned Oprah Winfrey.
She invited the Queen of All Media to join celebrities, including Amy Poehler, Jennifer Hudson and Alicia Keys, to meet with President Obama and discuss how they could generate publicity for his health-care law.
Oprah refused.
“All of Oprah’s top people thought she would go, because when the president invites you to the White House, most people automatically say yes,” said one of Oprah’s closest advisers. “But Oprah said she didn’t have the time or inclination to go. It wasn’t like she had to think it over. It was an immediate, flat-out, unequivocal no.”

Re: Even Oprah isn’t on board with ObamaCare
Only 33% of registered voters want the law repealed:
http://www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/2013/09/30/new-poll-only-one-third-of-americans-support-repealing-defunding-or-delaying-obamacare/
It would be nice to think of constructive improvements instead of an ideological repeal or nothing. It's not a winner for the Republicans.

It seems MOST people who are trying to sign up are finding it isn't very good for them, fsh. NB will continue to twist facts to suit his beliefs until Obamacare is either totally changed -which it HAS to be- or until it dies. It's too bad because the "Affordable Care Act" could really have been that. They could have actually done things to make health care better instead of worse.

He doesn't know first hand how good or terrible it is, fsh. So he won't be answering you anytime soon.
I am shocked that Oprah doesn't think Obamacare is a good thing either. I thought she was like Chris Matthews and most liberals and loved EVERYTHING Obama did.

Why should she support Obamacare, anyway?"...Oprah did not campaign for Obama in the 2012 race, and she has been absent from his battles on gun control, immigration reform and the environment. She claims she is too busy to get involved in politics, even though she hosted a fund-raiser for Newark Mayor Cory Booker, who won a US Senate seat last week.
Oprah’s friends publicly dismiss the idea that she had a falling out with Obama. They note that she phoned Michelle Obama right after the 2012 election to congratulate her. They say Michelle invited her to have dinner with the first family. But the dinner never took place, and Oprah continues to be frozen out.
“Oprah was hoping there would be a genuine change in the atmospherics,” one of her friends told me. “But there hasn’t been. Clearly, she is being rebuffed at the level of Michelle and Valerie. And, just as obviously, President Obama hasn’t interfered on Oprah’s behalf.”
During Obama’s first term, I argued in my book “The Amateur” that Michelle was jealous of Oprah, furious that he was seeking her advice.
“For her part, Oprah doesn’t like being with Michelle, because the first lady is constantly one-upping the president and anybody else around her,” said an Oprah adviser.
“Oprah has struck back by banning the Obamas from her [Magazine] . . . It probably hurts Oprah more than Obama, who, if he had his head screwed on straight, would have flown to California and begged Oprah to help him save ObamaCare.
“But Obama hasn’t budged, and neither has Oprah. She’s hurt and angry, and I seriously doubt that Oprah will ever make up with the Obamas. She knows how to hold a grudge.”
Like John F. Kerry, she's a Billionaire: she can fly to the Caribbean, and have a hangnail taken care of by an American expat doctor...

So what is that last human desire?
To exercise power over their fellows.
Bossing people around for their own good, even through a political surrogate, is a powerful, powerful drug.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. - C. S. Lewis

Re: Even Oprah isn’t on board with ObamaCare
The simple and plain fact is that money is good for America.
Money funds Social Security and all of the various social programs and entitlement that are currently in place. It is American wealth and prosperity that funds the social programs. Republicans are committed to the belief that every American must have the right to strive to prosper to the fullest extent of their ability and their ambition. Republicans believe that American society has the responsibility to provide an open road for all who strive to prosper, and a safety net for those who are unable to do so.
Progs are determined to give a hammock and a rum punch to all who ask. They are committed to the redistribution of wealth. Their perhaps “well intentioned” policies strip far too many of ambition and self-pride. Too many politicos on the left see the recipients of entitlements as being a rich source of votes, hence political currency. Hells bells, the government even has “food stamp recruiters,” they have a quota for these recruiters to sign up 150 new recipients each month. Rhode Island hosts “SNAP (food stamp)-themed bingo games,” and the USDA tells its field offices to throw parties to get more people on their rolls.
The ethos of the Progs is to simply share and share alike. They are fully committed to the belief that stripping wealth from one group of people to redistribute it to another group of people is sound governance and is just and moral. Their entitlement programs have created generations of persons who have become addicted to the notion that simply because they exist, they are “owed” a comfortable life style.
The Democrats/liberals/progressives seem unable to plan for the future. They stubbornly refuse to curtail their spending which is placing our nation on a path to perdition.
They seem to live in a “feel good now” world with no worries about tomorrow. They furiously resist any attempts to reform Social Security or the plethora of other social programs currently in place even though the cost of those programs as they are now structured are certain to gut the programs and founder our nation. If/when that happens, and it will happen unless the programs are reformed, the suffering will be unimaginable.
Their attitude is nothing new, it has been a part of human existence since time immemorial.
Do you remember Aesop’s fable about the ant and the grasshopper?

Of course we all know that is a manufactured survey. Every poll I have heard has the approval rate for Obamacare in the 30s. WHERE do you dig up these ideas, NB??? Re: Even Oprah isn’t on board with ObamaCare
Funny, it seems like an average of recent polls show that voters DO NOT want Obozocare.News Buzzard wrote:Only 33% of registered voters want the law repealed:

It would be nice to think of constructive improvements instead of an ideological repeal or nothing. It's not a winner for the Republicans.
But you found one that says they do. Curious, do you think?
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/obama_and_democrats_health_care_plan-1130.html
Of course twisting the truth is what the far left does best. The Democrats blame Republicans for the shut down (by the way, most Americans couldn’t give a rats backside that it was shut down). Even for dullards, It's easy to pinpoint the cause of the shutdown. It was the person who said, "I won't negotiate!" Lack of negotiation shut the whole legislative process down. Who said that? Obozo. He refused to participate in the legislative process, and held the entire country hostage.
How long before the general public realizes the truth here???
We have all seen what a disaster the Obozocare website rollout has been, and the majority of people that got pricing are reeling for the STICKER SHOCK of the “affordable” care act. It won’t be long before people see that the Republicans' request for the same year's delay for the individual mandate that Obama gave businesses and health insurance companies was absolutely warranted.
From Your own article:
Of the 1,976 people surveyed, there were 317 more Democrats polled than Republicans.57 percent believe that it (Obozcare) will make health care “much more” or “somewhat more” expensive, whereas only 15 percent believe it will make health care “much less” or “somewhat less” expensive. 37 percent believe that the law will negatively affect the “availability of medical benefits,” whereas 23 percent believe it will improve access. 37 percent believe that the law will negatively affect “the quality of the medical care you receive,” whereas 20 percent believe it will improve it.
I have to admit, I am surprised the approval of Obozocare is as low as it is.
You have to figure, there is a big crowd out there that just likes Obozo and follow him mindlessly.
There is also Democrats out there that just follow party lines no matter what.
Finally there are people in this country that BELIEVE others should pay for their stuff.
The fact that all these group ONLY make up 38.8% of the population should tell you all you need to know about Obozocare.

from today ...
obama tried to put a happy face Monday on the disastrous rollout of the Obamacare website, urging frustrated consumers to call a toll-free number or mail in applications via “snail mail” while the administration works feverishly to fix computer glitches.
“Nobody is madder than me about the fact that the website isn’t working as well as it should, which means it’s going to get fixed,” obama said at the White House.
“In the meantime, you can bypass the website.”
In a stunning admission of the HealthCare.gov website’s early failure, Mr. Obama said call centers are being filled with extra staffers to process phoned-in applications for health insurance, and other consumers can download applications to send in through the U.S. postal service.
“We are doing everything we can possibly do to get the websites working better, faster, sooner,” Mr. Obama said. But in the meantime, he added, “You can sign up to get covered in other ways.”
He also took a swipe at congressional Republicans, saying “it’s time for folks to stop rooting for its failure.”
As the president spoke at length of the virtues of Obamacare, a young woman beneficiary of the program nearly fainted behind Mr. Obama on the steps of the White House rose garden.
Mr. Obama was talking about the need “to free families from the pervasive fear that one illness,” when he turned to look at the woman, whose eyes grew wide as she teetered backwards. A man standing behind her caught the woman as Mr. Obama also reached for her.
“I gotcha. You’re OK,” the president said. “This happens when I talk too long.”

Re: Even Oprah isn’t on board with ObamaCare
I wonder if obama was told obamacare was going to be ready when it really wasn't?
If that is the case heads will have to roll. I'm sure there is a direct and open chain of responsibility in this administration so it shouldn't take too long to find the person responsible for giving obamacare the green light.
What if obama knew it was not going to be ready on time and opened obamacare anyways? Why was it so important to open obamacare on October 1 with so many flaws? Why disrupt our entire country to force something on America that was destined for failure?
I wonder if obama refused to negotiate and consequently let a partial shutdown of the government take place because he thought obamacare was on schedule and ready to be implemented?
If that is the case and obamacare is the best obama and the Democrats have to offer we're in worse condition than I thought.

I don't know why but that reminded me that the Redskins give most of their money to Republican causes. Do you think that has anything to do with the fact that Obama is criticizing their name? Of course it does. Probably shouldn't have posted that here.
