Illegals—Killing the Americans That Americans Won't Kill?

I recently had, what I consider to be a very upsetting conversation with an immigration attorney I know.  He indicated that the 11 million figure being bandied about as the number of illegal aliens in the U.S. isn’t even close to being correct.  According to him, 11 million is the number of illegal aliens who have filed IRS I-10 forms to get a taxpayer identification number, i.e. that portion of the total number who are working above board, declaring their income, and paying taxes.  

He estimates the real number of illegals to be closer to 25 million which would include the dependents of the above as well as those working for cash in the underground economy who don’t pay any taxes.
