Tell Me about Satellite Radio...
Here, my AM reception allows me to listen to Radio Havana on about 12 different stations; in fact, there are only two English-speaking stations available here—daytime—that are not overridden by Cuba. Some nights I receive a decent "skip" signal from WBZT, Charlotte, NC.
Radio Havana does play good classical music, but why try to listen to music on AM? Not so funny is that Radio Havana has children behind their microphones on weekends, who are indoctrinating other children.
But I'm reading of Sirius radio, HD radio (one time, $50), and XM. How do I subscribe, and what do I need in hardware?

Sirium/xm are combined now. If you like talk, I really don't think it is worth it. I get two Fox Channels, the one that is on tv which has tons of ads and the Fox Business Channel. I also get Patriot which is good during the day when i don't have a chance to listen but at night it has Mark Levin til 9 and then Cam and Company which is mostly about guns until 3 am when it has The Wilcow (sp) Majority. He rants a little too much and likes to hear himself talk, but has great ideas and a great way of saying things. But that's about it. Now it has lots of music channels -50s, 60s, 70s, 80s etc. and all kinds of specialty channels like at Christmas it has Christmas carols and sometimes an Elvis Channel, things like that. and all kind of entertainment channels like Oprah if you want to listen to that. Go on the internet and you can see what their lineup is. I am disappointed in it. I used to love it, but it seems since sirius took over, they dropped most of the good programming. My kids get it for me for Mother's Day so I don't know what it costs. You need to buy a radio first which you can get in Walmart. It is very small and you need a speaker and there is an antenna with a long wire. It needs to point south, south west I think.

I'll research HD-Radio a little in the next 24 hours—but how does this review of HD-Radio go with your satellite experiences?

"HD Radio has two big selling points. The first is that it's free--unlike satellite radio, there's no subscription fee. The other is multicasting--access to digital subchannels that aren't available on the analog band. On stations with multicast channels, you can toggle to the HD2 and/or HD3 subchannels. (The HD Radio Web site has a full city-by-city listing of available stations.) HD2 options here in New York City, for instance, include hip-hop, gospel, classical, oldies, '80s, country, and salsa. In New York and elsewhere, you'll also find simulcasts of several AM stations, which gives this the Insignia radio access to crystal-clear versions of many (but not all) local news, talk, and sports stations that would otherwise be unavailable on this FM-only radio..."

What is that? I never heard of it. I admit there are a lot of these things that I never heard of. Do you get it off your computer or what?
