House votes to repeal stand-your-ground law
CONCORD, N.H. —Deadly force would no longer be a viable first option for someone defending themselves or others in a public place if they could safely retreat from the threat, if New Hampshire changes its stand-your-ground law.
The House voted 189-184 Wednesday to send the Senate a bill that repeals part of a law that Republicans pushed through two years ago -- over a governor's veto and law enforcement's objections. Current law allows people to use deadly force to defend themselves any place they have a right to be without having a duty to retreat.
The bill returns the law to one based on the Castle Doctrine, which states that a person does not have to retreat from intruders at home before using deadly force but must consider it in public.

Endured only two years on New Hampshire's books!
What do you bet that this is New Hampshire's Legislators' knee-jerk reaction to Florida's Trayvon Martin case? (Where a volunteer security guard was assaulted by a suspected burglar in a gated community—and nearly killed).
Which has yet to be heard in court?

I was thinking that too, it must be a knee jerk response.
