Where does a city go when it's at the bottom?



$25 Billion supported General Motors with OPM, then another $17 Billion of OPM. Quicken Loans has become a major player. What can go wrong in the loan business with the Government encouraging still more "toxic loans"?



My signature line refers to the toxic administrations that ran Detroit—and that they were overwhelmingly Democrat; in fact, Detroit's mayor is going off to jail this week!

A steep reduction in crime helps, which put Detroit's top cop in the news. He advocates that the city's black citizens apply for concealed gun permits.

“There’s a number of CPL (concealed pistol license) holders running around the city of Detroit. I think it acts as a deterrent. Good Americans with CPLs translates into crime reduction. I learned that real quick in the state of Maine.” (Police Chief James Craig on WJR 760 AM)

Most other violent crimes, including carjackings and robberies were also on pace to drop in 2014, although justifiable homicides are up, from 16 year-to-date in 2013 to 22.

After better than 30 years [Republican Governor] Rick Snyder got a deal for Canada to pay the entire cost of building a new bridge. Obama refused to release funds ($250 million) for the customs plaza unless Snyder agreed to give $100 million to the union pension funds. [Republican Governor] Snyder refused the money and started the project without approval. The feds will use it because Detroit is the second busiest freight crossing on the continent.

Things are looking up for Detroit, thanks to the GOP!

There is a big money land rush going on in Detroit right now largely driven by Texas investment and hospitality firms. They’re buying up 1920s era warehouses for renovation into high dollar residential and shopping. They’re also drawing up plans for the riverfront.

Even the Packard plant has been sold, taxes paid, and cleanup begun for a half billion dollar restoration.

Are those the Texans who are Democrats?
