Indiana Begins Medicaid Expansion
It is the 10 state with a Republican governor to accept the expansion, with conservative principles, and will secure health insurance for 350 thousand Indiana residents:

Re: Indiana Begins Medicaid Expansion
The issue was always money
The long-term cost to the states after the initial funding ended. The Feds are now unilaterally rewriting the law to give the states a "get out of jail free" card. They would be stupid to NOT take federal money.
Obama gets a "win", and so do the politicians at the state level. The loser is the taxpayer.
The Federal Government does not have the money to keep that promise.
Assuming no more states hop on the bandwagon the Federal government will have a $739,000,000,000 deficit in 2020. By 2025 it will be $1,088,000,000,000.
Now who do you suppose is going to have to make that up?
The kicker, the more states that sign up the more expensive it will be and the worse the deficits will be and you still haven't told everyone how the government is going to pay for SS or the $4 trillion in infrastructure you needed yesterday.
Why not just continue making promises since you don't plan on keeping any of them? How about free college? Oops, that was tried last week, well maybe free solar panels for everyone. I am sure that would be popular too.

Your share of the National debt is $56,556; can the Feds expect a check from you anytime soon or do you believe others are obliged to pay for you?

The US is allowed to operate in debt, and I don't think it's very healthy for the 1% to hoard all of our wealth while everyone else starves. Meanwhile, the gaggle of clowns you have running for president in 2016 will all get smoked by Hillary, so we'll be operating under the status quo until the Democrats take back the congress. That shouldn't take too long.

So that would be, a solid NO to paying your “fair share”.
It is extremely disturbing there are people in this country that believe that they are entitled to somebody else’s wealth. How does your jealousy/hatred for the 1% align with supporting Hillary? Shouldn’t your vote go to Biden?

My tax payments every year are in the same percentile range as Mitt Romney's, who brings in about $20 million more a year than me! I pay my fair share, and I never whine about it!!!

Most of the time I can't even comment on NB's nonsense. He has no idea how the real world works.

Mitt Romney’s 2011 tax return was 13.7 million and he paid 1.94 million in Federal Taxes.
If you paid the same tax rate as Romney, your “fair” share was less than 0.4% of Mitt Romney’s 1.94 million.
I wouldn’t whine about it either if I was you…but in reality, you are the one complaining.

Re: Indiana Begins Medicaid Expansion
Romney should have paid $5 million on that tax return, and some day he will. Getting back to topic; some 350 thousand residents of Indiana will get health insurance as a result of Governor Pence's actions, which is just another confirmation that you're stuck with Obamacare for the rest of your life!!

Romney paid was he was supposed to pay. What is this "he should have paid"
Do you pay taxes according to the gov. rules or do you pay more? I agree, it makes me mad my income is real income and I have to pay a larger percent than people with tons more money than me, but that is the way the law is. I guess Romney Buffett and Gates and others are just smarter than I am. But you don't see them voluntarily paying any more either, do you? The answer is the tax system is screwed up. YOu can't blame the people who pay what they are told they have to pay.

Yes, the Federal Government is allowed to carry debt, but the only reason this amount has been tenable is because of interest rates that are artificially being depressed. At just a reasonable 5%, our debt service alone will cost $1T per year. That is untenable!

NB has repeated this quote on another occasion. Can anyone find a reliable source for it? It's not showing up in major newspapers—that I can find.

Re: Indiana Begins Medicaid Expansion
In case you haven't seen this:
I just received an audit on my tax return for 2013 from the IRS. It puzzles me!!!
They are questioning how many dependents I claimed.
I guess it was because of my response to the question: "List all dependents?"
I replied: 12 million illegal immigrants; 3 million crack heads;
42 million unemployed people on food stamps,
2 million people in over 243 prisons;
Half of Mexico ; and 535 persons in the U.S. House and Senate."
Evidently, this was NOT an acceptable answer.
I KEEP ASKING MYSELF, WHO The Hell DID I MISS?

That's a good one!
The writer missed all the hirings of many thousands in Government agencies and the many thousands of employees who support the management of those 535 persons in the District of Columbia—all of whom collect on a golden—and bloated—retirement program that exceeds nearly every Government worker on State and County payrolls.
"The District of Columbia produces more than 11.1 million metric tons of carbon dioxide in any given year".
And they tell us that we should reduce our CO2 footprint!

Ask Huffpo and New York Times readers to take a 3 question poll:
1) Of those of you who have a tax liability, how many of you take advantage of every deduction you can find to lower your tax burden?
[/b]
2) How many of you who don’t have a tax liability believe that you should?
3) How many of you who do not have a tax liability, voluntarily donate money to the government despite having no legal obligation to do so?

And you don't, NP? You don't take tax breaks offered to you? You just pay without taking any deductions?

The only people who have offered to pay Massachusetts taxes at the higher (older) rate earn too little to pay towards Massachusetts income taxes; even then, the number is about one dozen!

Re: Indiana Begins Medicaid Expansion
The only deduction I take is the Standard Deduction! Romney's deductions are extremely questionable and probably illegal. He is declaring fee income as carried interest and that is BS. That's the problem with this country. The rich folk and corporations are getting away with murder on their taxes. The government just cut the IRS budget by millions so there won't be any oversight either. The GOP thinks they can offset this revenue shortfall by cutting Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and Obamacare, but they wouldn't last another election cycle after they did that!
