Post  News Hawk Tue Jan 07, 2014 6:11 am

For me its an issue to have someone move my stuff, unless I placed it in their way.  Who decides what trailer is best suited for what space?

I'm glad people can be ok with others moving their belongings without their knowledge.  The reason for my post is that I'm not and feel that people should respect others space.

Never having seen that location, I can't speak to the spacing of trailers there; however, is it possible that (through the reshuffling of spaces) your trailer ended-up taking up two- or 2½ spaces?

Or to express it another way, how do you feel about people who intentionally park their cars diagonally in a crowded parking lot?

I must admit, I have untied a boat before and moved it up a post so that we can get in. I don't think it's fair for someone to take up two spaces. The same with cars. I hate when people take two spaces. Or even park enough over the line so that another car can't get in there. I would never get in a person's car to move it however. (of course the keys would have to be in it too) Getting into something and simply moving a rope are two different things to me. I also would not mind someone moving my boat if it was in the way-assuming they tied it back up safely.

I'm loathe to "hot-link" to a different Lakes Region forum, must apply to only this forum?

Question Last September?

If you were concerned about directing readers' (plural) attention away from this forum you would not have begun this thread using a quote from Winni dot com as the basis of the thread. It must be that fear of boats that you have that is having an impact on your thought process. I recommend a move to Oklahoma or Arizona for your own piece of mind.

Well here is an example of "not moving the readers (plural) attention to a huge forum - from a small town forum"

The "Trojan Horse Bill" was never intended to keep Ocean-Racers quiet at night (entering a marina), or around Winnipesaukee's thousands of bay, cove, and harbor residences.

BTW: Didn't you think the white Donzi won?

☻ Your "Type" calls things "legal", that were illegal, and yet remain socially-averse.

☻ It is "legal" to drive across newly-formed ice—never thinking that one's anti-social behavior could grimly affect ice-rescuers, families of ice-rescuers, and the noisy and selfish partakers' own families.

☻ Winter Harbor's residents could be recovering from illness (requiring bed-rest), reflecting on their purchases of their new 2nd home along Wolfeboro's many miles of Winnipesaukee's shoreline frontage.

(And even further away!)

☻ Far from your havoc, your wakes affect little tykes in tiny boats.

Winter Harbor isn't The Ocean.

No

☻ The opposite shore is within Wolfeboro borders.

Would written reports have resulted, and kept by WPD, I wonder?

Regardless of your blunder.  You claim to not want to direct viewers away from this forum to another forum, and yet that is exactly what you did by beginning this thread, even to its title:
Moving an Unattended Boat and Trailer...
...from FATP...
by News Hawk
No one has a clue as to the context of your copy and paste job beginning this thread unless they visit Winni.com (or FATP as you call it) and go searching and yet you claim you don't want people doing that.  You can not have it both ways.
Your "Type" calls things "legal", that were illegal, and yet remain socially-averse.
I got a very good laugh out of that one, thank you.  First up there was NOTHING illegal going on in the video you posted under current or past law so you'll have to explain that to those of us not "gifted" like you.

Secondly and the one that I got a real kick out of, what you are saying is that laws that you do not like should be disregarded, such as the fixed speed limit?  Prior to the arbitrary numbers the law in NH was operate at a speed that was reasonable and prudent (still in the language of the law BTW) so since 45 is now legal I should disregard that and operate at any speed that is reasonable and prudent since that was once the only mention of speed in the law.

Interesting concept that you have there.

Then there is this beauty!

☻ Winter Harbor's residents could be recovering from illness (requiring bed-rest), reflecting on their purchases of their new 2nd home along Wolfeboro's many miles of Winnipesaukee's shoreline frontage.

I nearly peed myself laughing at that one. Since you bring the point up I expect you will be publishing the names and locations of everyone on the lake who are "... recovering from illness (requiring bed-rest), ..." so as not to disturb them.  lol!

Your fear of boats really should drive you to be looking at a place in the desert.  Have a fine day  Wink

There seems to be a lot of yakety yak defending the actions of a group that sought out to punish someone who supported the SL.
Legal, illegal…for sure I don't know what went on that day. What I'm quite sure of however is that many more people than NH would have been annoyed that day. We see it all the time on our shore. One or two loud obnoxious boats come along the shore, people are out on their docks enjoying one another's company. Conversation stops. People from one dock look over to those on the next and shake their heads (or worse). As I alluded to earlier, what was legal before (unlimited speed on Winnipesaukee) is now illegal because people exercising their "rights" annoyed enough people that there was a clamor to change the law. So keep it up. Punish anyone you want. But you will be (yet again) the losers in the long run.

I only mention "recovery" because my mother was terminally ill from cancer, and was on "bed-rest" at our Winnipesaukee cottage. I'm NOT publishing her name.

I, myself, have a doctor's order for a month's "bed-rest" presently.

I spent all day yesterday in the E.R. at Miami's Bascom-Palmer Institute.

(More on that under National Politics—later).

My condition—shingles—is an illness that will affect 1 out of three adult males. It's even rarer for me to be sick—at all.

Get the inoculation.

If your goal was to rid the lake of Hi Performance boats and family boats that you do not like, as has been known since day one and as your quote clearly states, then you and your supporters should have written a bill that bans them.  The boats in your video were operating safely and obeying the law and as YOU point out a half mile off shore.  (I'll have to take your word on that one).

The only problem here is YOU.

☻ As Achigan has generously shown the citizens of Wolfeboro, I happen to be oceanside where I've chosen to live when the mercury plummets in Wolfeboro.

☻ So, why is it I don't have anything to complain about—with dozens of boats whizzing back and forth on sunny weekend (like this weekend?)

 scratch

☻  Answer: As you certainly must be aware, Noise travels unimpeded across water. But here on the ocean, there are NO scenic hills to re-echo your noise—as there are many steep hills and mountains encompassing most of Lake Winnipesaukee. I think WHL will confirm that Wolfeboro's shorefronts are generally steep—and that some lots have regular wash-outs.

IF you'd been there, you'd know that the opposite shore is one-half mile from the camera. ('Course, not being there doesn't disqualify you from your regular polemics).

☻ Is there a law about silencing one's Ocean-Racer when close to dwellings—or when boating (or shore-line) emergency signals are sounded?

☻ So, let me remind you of that distance—the race that the Donzi won—and your self-described "legal noise".

☻ Is there a law about silencing one's Ocean-Racer when close to dwellings—or when boating (or shore-line) emergency signals are sounded?
In a word, NO.  There is a decibel limit for exhaust noise that has remained the same for years and switchable exhausts to quiet a boat are now legal but OPTIONAL.

☻ So, let me remind you of that distance—the race that the Donzi won—and your self-described "legal noise".
That had to be the slowest "race" I've ever seen.  No race, just boaters safely operating within the scope of the law on a holiday afternoon.

I'll repeat myself.  If your goal is to rid the lake of boats that you fear, and it is quite obvious that you fear boats, then file a bill that will make boats on Lake Winnipesaukee illegal.  Until then stop complaining about boats operating on the lake in a safe manner within the scope of the law.
But here on the ocean, there are NO scenic hills to re-echo your noise
You could always remain at the ocean where there are NO scenic hills to re-echo the sound of boat engines.

Again I recommend that you start looking for that desert property and move away from boats that are obviously causing you a great deal of angst.

Another fabrication.  The decibel limit for engine exhaust HAS NOT CHANGED so a switchable exhaust can be used to quiet an exhaust that previously could not legally be reduced.

Yes, "all local laws" ...wink wink.  But let's not forget that the purpose was to annoy and punish a SL supporter. Hence the maturity and integrity of a certain group of boaters again comes under scrutiny.
