Why?

Can one of you explain to me why you choose to conceal the fact that you are sign into this forum? For instance, right now it says that 3 users are online, yet I am the only one showing that I am online. I know there is a place to check so that you won't show that you are online, but I am just wondering why you don't want others to know that you are, indeed, on here.

Does anyone also wonder who all the guests are?? I would like them to join.

I think that people sometimes just want to read and not be involved. It would be nice to have new members. I think some are afraid of confrontation and don't want to deal with those that twist and intimidate. Who wants to be told they don't know what they are talking about or that they are wrong about something they know is correct?

But why don't they want it to be known that they are on line, fsh?

I agree, there is nothing that hurts a forum more than true nastiness. I don't know why people can't disagree without attacks.

I think trust has gone the way of politeness. It's just a quaint old relic of the past.

Most definitely. It's hard to believe how much things have changed. It's very disheartening.

They may already be members, but choose to "log-out" without responding with an opinion.

I guess that could be it. I have it to log me in automatically so I can see all the new posts etc. But I guess whatever suits your fancy----

I think it's easier to stay logged in too.
