A Salem woman is accused of running a prostitution business out of her massage parlor in Lawrence, Mass., police say.
Lori Barron was arraigned Tuesday. She is charged with maintaining a house of prostitution, deriving support from prostitution, unlawful wiretapping, extortion, photographing unsuspecting nude persons and human trafficking.
Police said that her employees at The Day Spa for Gentlemen performed sex acts on customers and that some of the encounters were videotaped without the clients' knowledge.
Customers included police officers, firefighters, teachers and a city councilor. No names were released.
Police said Barron advertised for receptionists on websites including Craigslist. Those receptionists would then be promoted to massage therapists within a few weeks. The workers were not licensed to perform massages, police said.
According to authorities, when clients arrived for their massage, they would put $100 in a basket. If they wanted a sexual service, they needed to pay another $100 and some of that money went to the worker.
Barron was ordered held on $30,000 cash bail.
She was arrested two years ago. At the time, she was accused of running a prostitution business out of her weight loss spa in Salem.

Funny, I did hear a discussion about that very thing. The person said they should legalize prostitution and tax it. Remember they had a big sting in Kennebunkport, Maine? or Kennebunc.?
