NJ - Governor signs bill that strips people of their rights for being on a list.
A republican governor.
A republican list.
The Right boot of tyranny.
Ten years ago, I told members of this board how "the list" would end up being used.
Right again.
Thankfully the GOP in the US House had their heads screwed on straight and shot this down on a national level.

http://townhall.com/tipsheet/leahbarkoukis/2013/08/09/christie-signs-10-gun-bills-n1660418One of the new laws will disqualify any person on the federal terrorist watch list from obtaining firearms identification cards or permits to purchase handguns.
“To the extent that this bill will keep guns out of the hands of known terrorists, or those who have taken active steps to support terrorist activities, my signature on this bill represents my commitment to keeping the citizens of New Jersey safe,” Christie said in a signing statement. “Our diligence against terrorism must never fade.”

As Obama pontificates about how there is no surveillance on the American people...does it occur to anybody to ask, "well then how do you establish who is on the Terror Watch List?"
Or how that information gets from the FedCoats to the local cops, to deny your rights?

Christie has turned into a liberal too. What happened to that outspoken man we used to know??? I have a
feeling he wants to run for president and when most of these guys decide that, they turn liberal. I think they know what the press will do to them. Too bad if for once, we couldn't have a true conservative run.

Must be the American people believe in the Liberal way of thinking then. It all boils down to getting the votes and I guess the conservative party just can't get enough of them to win.WHL wrote:Christie has turned into a liberal too. What happened to that outspoken man we used to know??? I have a

That tells me that the liberal media picks the president AND the only way to change that is to get more interest from the voters with a real conservative, one that people would really get excited about and get out to vote. A lot of people didn't vote at all last time because they didn't think Romney was conservative enough.

It tells me that once you ensure that 51 percent of the electorate is dependent on direct government assistance in one form or another, you can then ensure "one party rule", forever, basically.Donzel wrote:Must be the American people believe in the Liberal way of thinking then. The Roman Caesars understood this:
Panem et Circenses
Or, to put it in my own words:
People do not want freedom and independence.
In fact, they will actively fight against you if you try to bring it to them.
People want, what people have always wanted, three base human desires:
1 - To be fed.
2 - To be entertained.
3 - To exercise petty power over their fellow man.
Use those desires to achieve your political ends, and you'll have a base of support that can carry an empire 1000 years.

You will.WHL wrote: Too bad if for once, we couldn't have a true conservative run.
Rand Paul will run in 2016.
And he'll be torn to shreds by the welfare left and the warfare right.
The GOP machine will nominate some interventionist, big government, gun grabbing RINO like Crispy.
And we'll get 8 years of Hillary.
Unless enough people get off the fence now.

I agree, I think Rand will run and I love him. I will vote for him. But you are right, he will get torn to shreds. He has a way of speaking that softens what he says that I don't think his father had though.

His father was not a doofus. The press made him out to be that. He is really an extremely smart guy. Too smart for the press and the average people in this country, I guess.

That we have uneducated voters unwilling to do the background work that would make them better citizens. It is taking the easy way out when you accept everything.Donzel wrote:Must be the American people believe in the Liberal way of thinking then. Yes Anti, I agree. I do think however that Rand can smooth it over a little better than his father though, if you know what I mean. They are both so right about this country. The press and the people that believe the press are the doofuses.

“I’m on team Rand”
Sarah Palin has chosen sides in the ongoing feud between the Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
“I’m on team Rand,” she said on Fox News Saturday. “Rand Paul understands. He gets the whole notion of don't-tread-on-me government. Whereas Chris Christie is for big government and trying to go-along-to-get-along in so many respects.”
