Is being born to an American mother in a foreign land enough to meet the constitutional requirements to hold the office?

A lot of you right wing fanatics said it wasn't OK for Obama.  However Obama was born in the US and not a foreign land like Cruz.

It was OK for McCain to be born in Panama's Canal Zone, as the US had sovereignty at that time. That met the Constitutional requirements for "Natural Born American".

It was NOT okay for Barack Hussein Obama to be born to an under-age mother—with the alleged—father the citizen/subject of Britain. Neither condition conforms to US Constitutional requirements. The situation was made even worse by adoption to a Muslim father, a citizen of Indonesia.

(Not to mention enrolling—under discounted scholarship—at Occidental College as a foreign student).

That is really a good question, Donzel. If Obama was born in Kenya, yet his mother was an American citizen, isn't he an American citizen. Or does it have something to do because she was underage? THat shouldn't matter, should it? I guess he has the double problem of possibly giving up his citizenship later on though and going to college and getting aid as a foreign student. So he has to problems.

There was a lot of talk about McCain when he ran though, but the Dems. finally lost that one.

Cruz will take a lot from the Dems. too. What's good for goose isn't good for the gander.

The minimum qualifications for the presidency of the United States specified in Article II of the Constitution are:

1. Must be a Natural Born Citizen of the United States.
2. Must be at least 35 years old.
3. Must be a resident of the U.S. for at least 14 years.


I believe there are 2 requirements to be a Natural Born Citizen of this country.

1. One must be born in the United States or its territories.
2. Both parents must be U.S. Citizens at the time of birth.


#1 would make Cruz ineligible to be President.
#2 would make Rubio ineligible to be President.

#1 & 2 Would make Obama ineligible unless you are one who believes that the birth certificate wasn't forged and Obama was born in Hawaii.
