The title is kind of a "Winnipesaukee thing".

The James River wasn't just for recreation, but has a WWII history.

 

My uncle was a waist gunner on a Liberator.

40,000 were built—2 remain aloft!

I saw one of them in Laconia a few years ago.

Me, too—with my Dad—a PBY pilot in the Pacific Southwest, off PNG.

...think "Rabaul", "Bismarck-Sea", and Port Moresby. On leave, he body-surfed in Australian surf, and unintentionally, knocked out Admiral Halsey!
