Forbes ‘The World’s Most Powerful People’: Vladimir Putin tops Barack Obama
The leader of the free world is playing second fiddle to Vladimir Putin.
The Russian autocrat knocked President Obama off the top spot in Forbes’ fifth annual ranking of “The World’s Most Powerful People.”
Putin got the honor by outfoxing Obama by granting asylum to National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden, who has been spilling U.S. spying secrets, said Forbes.
Also, it was Putin who scored a diplomatic coup — not Obama — by getting Syria to hand over their chemical weapons to avert threatened U.S. missile strikes.
’
“Putin has solidified his control over Russia, while Obama's lame duck period has seemingly set in earlier than usual for a two-term president — latest example: the government shutdown mess,” wrote Forbes writer Caroline Howard.
Obama had been on the top of the Forbes list every year he had been in power except in 2010, when Hu Jintao, the former political and military leader of China, was No. 1.

Yesterday, Putin put Russia's nuclear teams on a practice "scramble".
Is this what we get for Obama's "Being more flexible after the election" on an "open microphone".

Would Radiation from Los Angeles Reach New Hampshire?
Global Power: Moscow launches four ICBMs in a large-scale nuclear drill as Chinese state media, brandishing detailed maps, show how Beijing's nuclear submarines can attack U.S. cities. We press "reset," they press "launch."
In March 2009, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton presented Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov with a red [and misspelled—NH] "reset button" to symbolize improved ties. The era of confrontation when American presidents demanded the tearing down of walls was over. From now on, we would make nice.
Fast-forward to 2012, when President Obama met with Dmitry Medvedev, Russia's then-president and now prime minister, at the Nuclear Security Summit in Seoul, South Korea.
That was when Obama assured Medvedev he'd have more leeway after his re-election to weaken missile defense. This would help him achieve his dream of U.S. disarmament and bring about, as he expressed in Prague in 2009, "a world without nuclear weapons."
Apparently the Russians and the Chinese do not share that dream.

"Putin downplayed the value of Alaska during a question-and-answer session in Moscow today, pointing out that it was a cold northern territory.
“What would you need Alaska for?” he said, advising Russians "not be overenthusiastic” about the state.
“Mr. Putin, such a silly little man on this matter of invading Alaska,” Palin said in a written statement to Breitbart News, pointing out that it was obvious that Russia got “screwed” after selling the land to the United States in 1867 for $7.2 million.
“Sure, in hindsight your czars of old may have felt you got screwed in the deal when Abraham Lincoln’s Secretary of State scored on this enormously resource-rich land for just seven cents an acre, but that’s water under the former land bridge,” she said..."
