Sebelius adds yet another exemption for Obamacare
A group of Democratic senators are taking heart in signals by the Obama administration Thursday that people who lost their existing health plans because of Obamacare’s requirements will be eligible for an exemption that lets them purchase a catastrophic plan.
“I agree with you that these consumers should qualify for this temporary hardship exemption, and I can assure you that the exemption will be available to them,” Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said in a letter to the six senators.
Although it is unclear how the mechanics of the exemption will work, the response to the Democrats’ concerns addressed fears that people who lost coverage due to Obamacare will go without coverage if they do not find an alternative on state-based markets by Monday — the deadline to have coverage by the new year.
Obamacare’s requirements that all health plans had to provide a range of services contributed to many of these policy cancellations. But for weeks, the administration and the law’s outside defenders have derided such plans as sub-par junk and said consumers would be better off with their Obamacare-compliant policies.

He keeps on changing the law. Illegal for him to do it but he keeps doing it, doesn't he?

I don't understand how obama can get away with this. obama is flaunting rules and regulations for his own benefit. At a minimum his moves are unethical. To me they seem illegal. I couldn't believe that any CEO of any company would be able to get away with how this last year has played out for obama. And now he has the nerve to go on vacation! To the tune of 4 million dollars!

According to what I have heard, it IS illegal. It is a law and a president cannot just change a law any old way he wants to. Yet Obama does.
And yes, if Letterman thinks people shouldn't buy toys for their kids but should get it to people who are hungry, why doesn't he tell Obama to give it to the hungry instead of going to Hawaii? And why doesn't Letterman himself give up some of his lifestyle and give to the hungry? You notice these people all want to take OUR money to give away but they don't want to give up a thing.

Re: Sebelius adds yet another exemption for Obamacare
Is there anything defensible in this law other than the pre-existing condition provision?
I've yet to find anything and, apparently, the Administration hasn't either.
We all know healthy young men need pap smears, maternity coverage, and lactation courses and healthy young women need free prostate exams and Viagra.
But hey…Obamacare provides “better” insurance coverage at a price the insurance companies want with the control and obedience the Federal Government needs.
Obama is “allowing” people to buy the insurance they want at this point in the game.
Isn’t this a little “unfair” to those who recently purchased new Obamacare policies because their policy where cancelled? They got locked into higher rates and deductibles, and now they find out if they had only procrastinated, they could have got bare-bones coverage, just as they intended to and wanted in the first place.
Looks like Obama a screwed this group for a third time.
But they can take some solace, it appears the catastrophic policies that will now be allowed are more money than the so called “garbage policies” and just a little cheaper than the bronze plan.
When did the President of the United States become an Insurance Salesman, Federal Insurance Commissioner?
While we are at it…
Isn't the ACA law?
Wasn't it signed into law by Obama?
If it is a law, then how can the President decide who gets to follow the law and who doesn't?
Isn't this left up to congress to change or readdress laws?
So now we have a President that gets to change a law at the stroke of a pen and only when it benefits him politically. I think the constitution says otherwise, but then again, when has Obama or the leftist party recognized the Constitution.

Don't you think he is creating jobs that didn't exist before? I mean, all those new Obamacare “navigators”?
Come to think of it, ObamaCare will probably spawn the new profession of helping people figure out how to get OUT of buying it.

I don't think he has created one single job with his policies.
