"The main conclusion of the 70 page report is that the Recovery Act increased US GDP by roughly 2 to 2.5 percentage points from late 2009 through mid 2011, keeping us out of a double dip recession. It added about 6 million "job years" (a full time job for a full year) through the end of 2012. If you combine the Recovery Act with a series of follow-up measures, including unemployment insurance extensions, small business tax cuts and payroll tax cuts, the Administrations' fiscal stimulus produced a 2% to 3% increase in GDP in every quarter from late 2009 through 2012, and 9 million extra job years, according to the report".

So according to Obama…He was successful, and you buy it hook line and sinker.  You can’t be serious.

Five years ago, Obama signed the failed stimulus package of nearly $900 billion promising unemployment would never go above 8% & be 5.4%by now.  FAILED

Create 3 million "SHOVEL READY" jobs.  FAILED

Repair our infrastructure.  FAILED

SS Disability doubles from 5.4 million to 11 million. By the way that exceeds the entire population of Greece.

47 million Americans are on food stamps.  That exceeds the entire population of Spain.

49.2% of population getting some kind of check or assist from the gov't

We have the lowest Employment Participation Rate….ever.

S&P cut the long-term U.S. credit rating by one notch to AA-plus on concerns about the government's budget deficit and rising debt burden.

Under Obama, the federal government accumulated more debt than it did under the first 42 U.S presidents combined. The federal government is stealing more than 100 million dollars from our children and our grandchildren every single hour of every single day.

Obama is calling his stimulus package success?

If the Obama’s stimulus plan worked, and the UR was accurate, why would we need to extend unemployment?

If the Obama’s stimulus plan worked, why are our roads and bridges still crumbling?

So really the ONLY viable defense of the stimulus package is:

The day the democrats took over was January 3rd 2007, that's the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate...the start of the 110th Congress. The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

1. Federal debt has increased by 44% from $10.6 trillion to $17.4 trillion.
2. Americans living in poverty have increased by 16% from 39.8 million to 46.2 million.
3. Total unemployment (U6) has increased by 24% from 19 million to 25 million.
4. Price of gasoline has increased by 100% from $1.86/gal to $3.50/gal
5. Grocery prices have increased by 17%. [CPI Food price index of 119.6 to 164.3]
6. Americans on food stamps have increased 42% from 31.8 million to 45.2 million
7. Healthcare premiums per family have increased by 19% from $12,680 to $15,073.
8. US Bank failures per year have increased by 268% from 25/yr in 2008 to 96/yr in 2011.
9. Home foreclosures per year have increased by 34% from 850,000 to 1,140,000
10. Total bankruptcy filings per year have increased by 31% from 1,117,641 to 1,467.221.
11. US credit rating was downgraded by S&P for first time
12. Median Household income has declined by 4% from $50,939 to $48,950.
13. Median value of existing homes has declined by 17% from $197,233 to $162,500.
14. US dollar compared to foreign currencies has declined by 7.7%. [US dollar index on Jan 20, 2009 vs. Dec 30, 2011]
15. US dollar compared to gold has declined 89%. [$855/ounce to $1617/ounce]

The Democrats are much like drug dealers. The only exception is they are working hard to get people addicted to government assistance.

They promote giveaway programs to lure the unsuspecting into a habit that once they are hooked, it is hard to quit and that is the habit of relying on others for your own well- being.

They now are using the unemployed in much the same way. Get them hooked, keep them hooked, and they will just keep on supporting those that grant them their "fix"

They are working hard to insure that people become dependent on free money for doing nothing and this extension they are proposing only proves that to be the case.

They don’t want people to seek employment. They know that if they do they will see how they have been lied to about the job market and the lack of decent jobs and full time employment opportunities.

They know full well that if they can just keep them on government assistance, they can threaten them for votes saying"

“ If you elect Republicans, where will take away your home, healthcare, food etc."

Don’t think for a minute the Democrats give a damn about the poor, minorities, or the unemployed.

They are using them for political gain, nothing else.
