Obama's Fine Dining
Of course the Obamas care for the poor. And didn't he once say: "How much money do you need?" What a phony. They both are!

President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, spent the first night of the new year at Vintage Cave, an upscale restaurant in Hawaii.
"At Vintage Cave Honolulu, one can enjoy exceptional food and wine at the hands of gifted masters of the culinary arts. ‘Chef’s recommendation’ commands a gravitas guaranteed to satisfy the most discerning palate. Seasoned sommelier’s conduct the process of pairing wine and food with true finesse and style. Secure in the natural embrace of the cave-like environment, guests are encouraged to relax, ‘hit reset’ and escape the ordinary," Vintage Cave's description reads on its website.
As Time's Zeke Miller pointed out, membership at the restaurant can set you back $500,000.
The half million dollars is to become a "Charter Member." A cheaper membership option the restaurant offers is "Special Member," which costs only $50,000.
The restaurant's prix fixe menu is reportedly $295, with a 13-15 course meal. One local magazine estimates "total bill for two, with wine, will approach $1,000."

Re: Obama's Fine Dining
Why be so small & petty...you could always go spend some of your money and have a special experience just like the Obamas.
I don't consider the cost that extravagant for a special occasion.

I would consider myself a hypocrite to spend that kind of money on a meal and all the while criticize the rich!!! I suppose if you are Gates or Buffet it doesn't make any difference but what a waste.

Really? You consider $295 to be so extravagant that only Buffet or Gates deserve the experience?

HaHa!! You can spend that much money in a small, 10 table, Italian restaurant in Harlem by the name of Rao's!

Exactly, Key West has a few dining establishments that easily set you back a few bucks....but if the food, service and ambiance is worth it, I have no qualms about supporting it. After all, it's my friends & neighbors , why not keep the honey flowing....

As usual, you forget the important points and only tell half the story. It's $500,000 to join this restaurant and at least 295 a person. A typical meal is a thousand dollars.

Meanwhile, school children are served a stalk of broccoli and a carrot stick for lunch.

Thank you NH. She doesn't seem to understand the concept. While Michelle expects school children to starve, she stuffs her face.

@ $180, Obama Is "Slumming It" Today...
We peasants must be a pikers in contrast...
"Motorcades" can include 40 vehicles, many are driven by volunteers, with no training. One young gal says in a video, "I have no idea what to do in an emergency:

Hmmm. At least one British news source has printed this.
Foie gras is illegal in California and many countries, and abalone is endangered stateside because of over-harvesting. Viewed in that light, "Baby Abalone" seems over-the-top as a "dish".

Just 24 hours after President Obama sat down for five-star dinner with the first lady, he was back in another renowned Hawaii restaurant for a luxury meal.
He took his family to Nobu, a Japanese restaurant inside the hip Waikiki Parc Hotel where meals cost around $180 per person.
Images showed his motorcade parked outside the stylish eatery as hundreds crowded to get a glimpse of the Commander-in-Chief, Michelle Obama and their two children.
The president first ate at the upmarket restaurant in 2012 on New Year's Day, enjoying a three-hour meal of butter-poached lobster, roasted duck, and seared foie gras. He has returned every year since.
The menu has cold dishes such as King Crab Ceviche and Lobster salad alongside hot options including a $45 Baby Abalone with Light Garlic Sauce and Wagyu steak at $30 per ounce.

In the US, Socialism steals tax monies we are forced to pay. "Redistribution" is Socialism, but actually more related to Marxism.
Their "High-Life" goes with the Socialist Territory:
