About half of the hospitals in NH are now excluded from the Obamacare exchanges

Post  Outerlimits on Wed Nov 20, 2013 2:16 pm

Along with some 22 thousand tossed of their insurance plans in this state, about half of the hospitals are now excluded from the exchanges. People are panicked not knowing which hospitals will cover their policies, and will have to drive sometimes two hours for a hospital that is approved for Obamacare.

Hospitals that will not be in the network for individual health insurance plans under the Obamacare as of next Jan. 1 are:

Southern New Hampshire Medical Center
Parkland Medical Center in Derry
Portsmouth Regional Hospital
Alice Peck Day Hospital
Androscoggin Valley Regional Hospital
Concord Hospital
Cottage Hospital
Frisbee Memorial Hospital
Littleton Regional Hospital
Monadnock Community Hospital
Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital
Valley Regional Hospital

This change affects not only hospital care but doctor visits since many primary care physician practices across the state are hospital-owned.

ObamaCare exchange not allowing addition of newborns to policies

ObamaCare exchange not allowing addition of newborns to policies...

With all of the new bad news coming out this week from ObamaCare, here’s another horror story about the Healthcare.gov exchange from Utah that exemplifies the incompetence of government bureaucracy. One basic and nearly ubiquitous feature of health care — and indeed of family life — is the birth of children.

Health insurance plans have made it simple to add children to family plans for decades, allowing new moms and dads to have the costs of childbirth covered ex post facto, as long as the covered individual notified the insurer within a set period of time, usually 30 days. Now, however, the federal exchange requires an extra step that turns the process into a needless catch 22.....

And what would be the breakdown of that number?

How many had insurance?
How many are new Medicaid?

How many have insurance (not Medicaid) for the first time? Nobody knows but estimates for newly insured non-Medicaid are somewhere south of 2 million of which are most are subsidized.

The number is now up to 32.4 million, with the breakdowns in the attachment.

http://acasignups.net/

The plan was to include subsidies, just like the tax credit proposal John McCain made in 2008. Show me a politician who will take health insurance away from 32.4 million people!

That’s pretty funny.

People vote with their pocketbooks, wallets and emotions.

In 2008, 14.6% of the population was uninsured. Today, 12.9% remain uninsured.

The percentage of uninsured dropped by 1.7%, but the actual number of uninsured people is actually greater, about 6.7 million more than in 2008 because of the rise in population.

The amount of people subsidizing far outstrips those being subsidized and the amount of people paying higher premiums (20-50% higher) far exceeds, those paying less or getting it for free*.

This administration and its cheerleaders are boasting about 12.9% uninsured people. Excuse me, but that's less than a 2 point net gain, and it's cost trillions. Not exactly bang for our buck.  Just wait until the cheerleaders start figuring out that the subsidies they received are coming out of their tax refunds.

The people in this country have been totally Gruberized by Obama and his regime.  They have been lied to again and again so exactly how will that relate to their emotions?  Look at the past few election cycles and you will get your answers.

What's really funny is the fact that the incompetent boobs you love so much nearly ran this country into the ground and caused the Great Recession! In addition to that there are leaders in many states who are withholding health insurance from millions of citizens because of the same idiotic ideology. You can whine all you want (a common trait on this forum) about Obamacare, but you know as well as I do that it's here to stay, and eventually it will reach all 50 states!!

I do not love or even like any politicians over the past 4 decades (other than Reagan). Some are just less objectionable than others.

Your “withholding Health Insurance” equates to forcibly taking from somebody who earned it and giving it to somebody that didn’t while mortgaging our county’s future.

Sorry but I respect any politician’s decision not to put a greater burden on taxpayers and their children.

Obamacare cannot and will not survive in its current form.

That was already done decades ago when hospitals were ordered, by legislation, to not turn anyone away. The purpose of Obamacare is to make as many people as possible stakeholders in our healthcare system, no matter how much they can afford. Obamacare is not going anywhere. Just look at the numbers!

Pre-Obamacare:  People without insurance were covered by people with insurance, via state and municipal hospital district fees for the indigent. They tended to show up at emergency rooms.

Post-Obamacare:  More people have insurance that didn't before but are still subsidized by people with insurance. They are still showing up at emergency rooms.  Now we have billions in new taxes, much higher premiums, higher deductibles and reduced Medicare payments and coverage and higher Medicare advantage costs.  Let’s not forget now the IRS now collects fines.

News Buzzard wrote:Obamacare is not going anywhere. Just look at the numbers!

19 million have signed up for expanded Medicaid - Completely subsidized by taxpayers. The few million signed up in the exchanges, who WERE UNINSURED BEFORE - are certainly not a good financial tradeoff, for a multi-trillion dollar government program.

The few million, previously uninsured, you speak of is easily 10 million, a number which is nothing to sneeze at. The total number of 32.4 million is more than enough to keep Obamacare in place. The added benefit is the fact that the escalation of healthcare costs since the inception of Obamacare has slowed down significantly. That's the real problem in this country, the fact that healthcare is easily twice as expensive in the USA than it is anywhere else in the world. All of the greedy hands who have their fingers in the pie are fighting Obamacare for obvious reasons!! Wink

NB, would you please explain to me what is the difference between going to the hospital and getting health care for free or buying an insurance policy which you do not pay for so to you is free? The only difference I see is an insurance company is getting money.

Obamacare does nothing to reduce the cost of healthcare, NOTHING.

Obamacare only shifts the costs. That is why insurance companies and big businesses are for it.

Of the bogus claim of 32.4 million covered under Obamacare (don’t forget to subtract 19 Million for Expanded Medicaid) there will be many times more losers (people paying for others) than winners (people that have others paying their premiums).

If Obamacare ended today, most of the people that were forced to signed up would get a better deal. The only losers would be those getting subsidized.

That statement is totally false! Prior to Obamacare this country saw a 100% increase in healthcare costs over 10 years, while regular inflation came in at less than 25%! Since Obamacare was signed we are coming in at a much lower growth rate in healthcare costs, while trading in the fee for service model to the wellness model, where the million dollar workup is no longer the standard operating procedure. Why are we paying $800 for a bag of saline that is worth $1.50? Does anyone here think that is a reasonable charge??? Why are you all fighting to save a system that is ripping us all off??? Is it because the president is BLACK????

Obamacare will soon celebrate it's 5th anniversary and there is no way you are going to get rid of it! afro

Strawman  argument.

Obamacare doesn't reduce medical costs.  There is nothing in the bill, not a single item that reigns in the costs.

Since the 4th quarter of 2013 (Obamacare sign up), Healthcare costs have risen at the highest rate in over a decade. Prior to that, Many of Obamacare benefits were available, but the costs were deferred.  That is why supporters claimed the healthcare law was slowing the rise in costs in healthcare.  The supporters also omitted the fact 800 billion was taken from Medicare.

Any claims about ObamaCare reducing the cost of healthcare is nonsense.

Racism is real, and you know it! See all of that Birther nonsense, which you participated in!

By the way, Obamacare is here to stay, and the 24 Republicans in the Senate who are up for reelection next year will see to it. afro

I wouldn’t deny racism is real. There is racism on both sides, how could one explain how 99% of a race voted for the same candidate?

As for the birther stuff…

Obama was secretive about his background. He was secretive about his education, relationships and even his name. His secretive actions were the catalyst for the vast majority of the distrust and conspiracy theories. So I really can’t qualify all the birther stuff as racism as easily as you can.

You tend to label all opposition to Obama as racism. It’s easier to dismiss his actions & failures than to actually defend them.

For the record, I never put much stock in the birther movement. I have always believed if Obama did not qualify to be President, the Clintons would have found proof back in 08.

You'll have to repudiate the Democrats who formed the KKK:

History shows that the Ku Klux Klan was the terrorist arm of the Democrat Party.  This ugly fact about the Democrat Party is detailed in the book, A Short History of Reconstruction, (Harper & Row Publishers, Inc., 1990) by Dr. Eric Foner, the renown liberal historian who is the DeWitt Clinton Professor of History at Columbia University.  As a further testament to his impeccable credentials, Professor Foner is only the second person to serve as president of the three major professional organizations: the Organization of American Historians, American Historical Association, and Society of American Historians.

Democrats in the last century did not hide their connections to the Ku Klux Klan.  Georgia-born Democrat Nathan Bedford Forrest, a Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan wrote on page 21 of the September 1928 edition of the Klan’s “The Kourier Magazine”: “I have never voted for any man who was not a regular Democrat.

That is just pathetic.

Progressives have transformed the Democratic Party into the principal vehicle for peddling the politics of race and gender. They engage in populist demagogy that uses race and gender to counterfeit an orientation to the interests of the oppressed masses of American society.

Some liberals have become so desperate and arrogant that they actually believe no one could think differently than them without being inferior.

Those who make blanket accusations of racism whenever someone disagrees with their ideas, opinions and beliefs are truly ignorant. They are also delving into bigotry and prejudice, both are pillars of racism.
