Mississippi is the poorest state in the union with the highest unemployment rate, and they only trail Texas with the amount of uninsured residents, at 21.46%. The acceptance of Medicaid expansion would bring affordable health insurance to 300 thousand residents of Mississippi !

I believe that at some point the states have to start paying a portion of this. Some states actually live by their budgets. Down to our south, MA is raiding their rainy day fund to balance their budget (even though tax revenues are up).

Many states budgets are already being crushed with Medicaid patients and this is before the ACA expansion in which the Feds will pick up the entire tab for the expansion for a limited time. The problem becomes when the Feds take away the 100%, 90% coverage and revert back to the 55-45% split between state and federal share for paying for Medicaid.

In New Hampshire, any decrease in percentage of federal support of Medicaid as outlined in the Affordable Care Act would trigger a requirement that the General Court reauthorize NHAHP within 6 months from the receipt of such notification. Failure to reauthorize would result in automatic discontinuation of NHANP at the end of that 6-month period.

So long as New Hampshire profits or breaks even, they're on-board, but 6 months after the "federal" government derails the gravy train, New Hampshire abandons ship along with many other states.

You automatically assume that the government won't continue funding the Medicaid at 90%. That's a Gloom And Doom scenario which is only negative speculation on your part. The hardest part of any solution is admitting we have a problem. Wars, tax cuts, a near depression you ignore, and you choose to blame the occupant in the White House for all of the mistakes your party has made. You'll never be successful with that, just look at how far Hillary is out in front of the pack, something else which you also deny. There is little room for Doom And Gloom in this country. We're better off than what you're people are telling us. Even Detroit is doing a slow climb out of it's problems, just like the other big cities did in the 1990s.

The governor of Mississippi is withholding affordable health insurance from 300 thousand of his own citizens, only because Obama's name is attached to the Affordable Care Act. Six Republican governors might lose their jobs this November, and the rest will fall, one by one, if they continue with this lunacy.

When did they say this funding was permanent? I’ll answer that for you…they didn’t.

It's just another bait and switch, just like all the kicking the can down the road we see in politics today. Common sense says federal funding will have to revert to normal federal/state matching 55/45 sooner than later. This 100%/90% isn't going to last. Eventually the Feds will find it way too costly to keep funding this Medicaid expansion.

Wars and tax breaks have a sunset. Entitlements are forever. It's political suicide. Once you give people free stuff. It's hard to take away. So when the Feds take away the generous funding and revert back to normal sharing, States won't have a choice but to keep funding Medicaid and shouldering more of a bigger share for this Medicaid expansion.

Look at Medicaid budgets for each state. Most cost the state more than 20-25% of their annual budget already. This is all on Obama and the Democrats.

Nonsense!! The truth is you just don't want to see less fortunate people get health insurance. The government isn't going broke in your lifetime!!!

The sad fact is, this constant drumming on the ACA is nothing more than smoke & mirrors to hide the fact that Congress isn't functioning at even half speed...they should all be fired!!!!

Earlier today, Senate Republicans blocked a bill to close the “corporate desertion” tax loophole. The loophole allows corporations that earn most of their money in America to renounce their corporate citizenship by moving their address to a tax haven and avoid paying U.S. tax obligations.
Instead of doing their job to help millions of Americans, the House GOP is focused on another political stunt to sue President Obama that will likely cost millions in taxpayer dollars. At the same time, deadlines loom and if Congress doesn’t act it will deal the economy a self-inflected wound at just the wrong time.
Why are you not offended by this waste of tax dollars? Why are you silent on corporate welfare?
