Maher: Rapists Go Into the Military For Same Reason Predators Go Into the Catholic Church

On his HBO Real Time program, during a discussion about sexual assaults in our armed forces, the host said, "The reason why more rapists go into the military is the same reason why predators go into the Catholic Church: it’s a place they know they can get away with it"


BILL MAHER, HOST: They have to get right with the idea that more people who are rapists and violent go into the military. I mean, that’s sort of understandable. It’s a violent organization. Their job is violence.

ZACHARY QUINTO: Maybe they should have a roundtable with the Catholic Church and try to come to some understanding of how to navigate this.

MAHER: Well, you know, it’s funny you say that, but I think the reason why more rapists go into the military is same reason why predators go into the Catholic Church: it’s a place they know they can get away with it.

QUINTO: And that hierarchical structure prevents them from really being accountable to anybody.

MAHER: Right, and they’re protected.

Sadly, this was Maher going even further to insult the military than he did last month when he said, “Well, some of them are psychopaths. I mean, let’s be honest. Some people join the Army because it’s the one place where you can kill people for free. Where you’re not charged with murder.”

Isn't it great that this hateful man has his own nationally televised program to spew such bile from?

How does that man stay on tv? If anybody on Fox said the kind of things he said, the left would be all over it.
