Probably the day will come when we won't be able to just tie our boats up to the dock anymore. They will probably have to be locked.

It makes me mad too, fsh. It is so nice to not have to worry about things like that here in the Lakes Region, but thing are changing.

You are correct WHL, things aren't changing for the better. There are people right here in town that think progress means more people. With more people comes more crime. We have been forced to share our country with every slug that comes along. Look what has happened.

Look at it this way: we're not on the Wal-Mart side of the Lake.

If it was up to some people in town we would have a Walmart on 28. And a McDonalds and a Burger King and a Outback Steak House. That would make us just like any other town in any other state. Convenience does not equate to progress.

SALEM, N.H. —Salem police said two men have been arrested after they were caught trying to pawn stolen items.

Officers recovered GPS systems, iPods, electronics and coins that were taken in at least half a dozen car break-ins in Salem and Manchester.

Joshua Turmel, 19, and Patrick Hardy, 17, both of Methuen, Mass., were charged with receiving stolen property.

I don't know about more people, fsh, but it is the TYPE of people. People who think other people's property should be rightfully their's.

As far as the fast food places, you probably remember you would think the world was coming to an end as far as the planning board was concerned when Dunkin' Donuts went in. But just look at how busy that place is!!! Speaking of which, did anyone read the paper about where Paul Zimmerman was asking about a fast food place? Do he want to put something in?

Well it didn't really say that. I just went and got the paper and it is pretty long. First it talks about the lighted signs (remember that Audrey Cline cited businesses in town?) and then it says "Zimmerman also brought along architect Tony Fallon to present a case for allowing a drive through restaurant on his property. Fallon suggested it might be a good thing for the town. Then he said they could do a style of restaurant that would fit the town, and have things like window boxes. "Fallon asked the board to clarify it's objection to drive through restaurants and consider allowing them with conditions in place." So I don't know what if anything is being planned, but it sounded to me like something might be. ????

I read WHL's post and still don't understand it.  Did WHL say that people who have property is rightfully their property?

I said some people think that the property of other's should belong to them so they steal it or as in the case of government, the gov. steals it from us to give to others. Get it?
