Obama’s ‘catch-me-if-you-can’ government lands him on most corrupt list Empty Obama’s ‘catch-me-if-you-can’ government lands him on most corrupt list

Post  fshnski Fri Jan 03, 2014 2:55 pm

The nonprofit government watchdog Judicial Watch released its most recent annual list of “Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians” this week, and both political parties take a hit: House Speaker John Boehner’s there, as well as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

But topping the list:

President Obama — for his “catch-me-if-you-can” manner of governing, Judicial Watch said.

On its website, the watchdog group wrote: “House Speaker John Boehner has apparently become a master at what Government Accountability Institute president Peter Schweizer calls the ‘Tollbooth Strategy,’ ” or when politicians charge interested parties money to move a bill through the legislative process.

And Mr. Boehner has used that method to “collect more than $200,000 in political donations from executives just days before holding votes on bills critically important to their industries,” Mr. Schweizer wrote, in his new book, “Extortion: How Politicians Extract Your Money, Buy Votes and Line Their Own Pockets,” as cited by Judicial Watch.

Mrs. Clinton, meanwhile, made the list for her famous Benghazi testimony, during which she responded to a question about the source of the attack,

“What difference does it make?”

Judicial Watch also said that “in addition to Hillary Clinton’s apparent cover-up of the role she played in the Benghazi tragedy and its aftermath, she left office in another ethical cloud about conflicts of interest in the activities of her longtime top aide Huma Abedin.”

Also on the list: CIA director John Brennan, Sen. Saxby Chambliss, Attorney General Eric Holder, former IRS commissioner Steven Miller and former IRS head Lois Lerner.
Former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, Sen. Harry Reid and Health and Human Service Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

Leading the list:  obama.

“President Barack Obama actually tops this ‘Top Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians’ list for 2013 as the driving force behind so many of the misdeeds.

This is Obama’s seventh straight year on the list, dating back all the way to 2007. … He is a master at catch-me-if-you-can, corrupt politics,” Judicial Watch wrote.

“This year, he has again acted as a one-man Congress, rewriting entire sections of federal law on his own. Not only is his administration secretive and dishonest; its callous disregard for the rule of law undermines our constitutional republic.”

Among Mr. Obama’s worst offense: Obamacare, and “his continual lies about the ability of Americans to keep their own health insurance,” Judicial Watch said.

Obama’s ‘catch-me-if-you-can’ government lands him on most corrupt list Empty I don't usually agree with Mr. King but he stated what the majority of us think.

Post  fshnski Fri Jan 03, 2014 4:20 pm

CONGRESSMAN PETER KING (R-NEW YORK), CHAIRMAN HOUSE HOMELAND SECURITY SUBCOMMITTEE ON COUNTERINTELLIGENCE AND TERRORISM: If there’s anyone that has an agenda, it’s the New York Times. This story is totally misleading and untrue. First of all, the headline saying al Qaeda was not involved. Ansar al-Sharia is affiliated with al Qaeda. As a practical matter, there is no core al Qaeda. There hasn’t been for a number of years. It’s been, I’d say, over the last three, four, or five years, the attacks that have been carried out have not been by core al Qaeda. They’ve been carried out by these affiliates because al Qaeda realizes how strong we have become. We have weakened them.

So they’ve metastasized, they’ve morphed, and the real threat comes from these affiliated groups: al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, Boko Haram, Al-Shabaab, and certainly Ansar al-Sharia. That is the al Qaeda supporter in Libya. They have a training camp near Benghazi.

And for the Times to say that that is not al Qaeda, if that is the mentality of this administration, that they feel that attacks by these groups are not terrorist groups by al Qaeda, then all of our people are in trouble because they’re the groups we should be looking at. That is the face of al Qaeda in 2013 and 2014. And we’ve known that for a number of years now. When the president says al Qaeda is decimated, he’s talking about core al Qaeda. We’ve know that for four, five, six years.

STEVE MALZBERG, HOST: Do you believe this is an attempt to rescue Hillary, to wipe this off, out of the lexicon for the future going forward so that the liberal media won’t bring it up, and anyone like you or a presidential opponent who does they’ll say, “Oh, that’s been settled?” I mean, do you believe there was a motivation here to help Hillary?

KING: Yes I do. I think it’s both help Hillary Clinton and also to take an issue away from Republicans no matter who the Democratic nominee is. Whether or not it’s Hillary Clinton or not, they want this issue taken away, and they are, it’s part of a systematic effort. You had Susan Rice was on, you know, earlier in the week, last week, whenever it was, basically trying to downplay the whole thing. And now you have this. And the Times to put it on the front page.

You know, when they said no al Qaeda presence, I really thought that they were going to say there was not Ansar al-Sharia, that they couldn’t, because that is al Qaeda. So, when I saw that, I said, “This story is meaningless and baseless,” and by putting that headline on it. And I’m disappointed in how much the media went along with it, by the way.

Disappointed? Sure. But it was totally predictable.

I read that article NB and it is a good one.

I like what Hrafnkell Haraldsson said about it:

"I asked once if the Republican Clown Car would ever find its way out of Benghazi and today I still do not see that happening. Benghazi has become catnip for Republicans. Creating a scandal, they instantly believed what they invented and they cannot now conceive a reality other than one in which Barack Obama – necessarily because he is black and Kenyan and therefore a Muslim and anti-American – is complicit in the deaths of the U.S. ambassador to Libya and others."

Obama’s ‘catch-me-if-you-can’ government lands him on most corrupt list Empty Rep. Steve Stockman: House Democrats ‘openly interfering’ with Benghazi investigation and ‘intimidating witnesses’

Post  fshnski Fri Jan 03, 2014 4:35 pm

Texas Rep. Steve Stockman likes to do things in a big way.

Tuesday, the Republican from Friendswood formally announced the largest petition ever presented to Congress. The petition — which contains the signatures of 1,000 Special Operations veterans and is 60 feet long — urges members of the House to force consideration of H.R. 36, the bill that would establish a Select Committee to fully investigate the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attack at Benghazi.

Last week, Rep. Steve Stockman filed a discharge petition to force a vote in the House on establishing a Select Committee to investigate the Benghazi incident.

According to Special Operations Speaks, Stockman said that “some House Democrats now appear to be openly interfering with the investigation and intimidating witnesses, which only raises more questions about the White House’s involvement. The only way we’re going to get a clean and thorough investigation is by forcing a vote with a discharge petition.”

Rep. Louie Gohmert, the Tyler Republican and fellow conservative firebrand, joined Stockman as a co-sponsor of H.R. 36. After the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee had a hearing in May on Benghazi, Gohmert released the following statement about the need to investigate:

“To believe what this administration is telling us, one would have to believe that the greatest military in the world could not have gotten a plane to Benghazi for 20 hours, when I have traveled from Andrews Air Force Base here near Washington, DC clear past Libya to Jordan in less than half that time. It became abundantly clear today that the American people have not gotten the truth about Benghazi but actually were lied to about what happened and about what was known during and immediately after the terrorist attack on our Consulate. Gregory Hicks, at the time the deputy chief of mission for the U.S. embassy in Libya, testified that Special Operations troops on the way to Benghazi were ordered to stand down as our people were fighting for their very lives. The statement by the military officer upon receiving the ‘stand down’ order was, paraphrasing, that this was a case in which the diplomat in Libya had more testicular fortitude than the military officer who ordered him to stand down. It is now vital that we find out who gave that order and why.”

On Tuesday, Gohmert spoke outside of the Capitol Building on the importance of investigating Benghazi, even though some consider it a thing of the past.

While not specifically mentioning Hillary Clinton, Gohmert said referred to her “ridiculous question” of what difference does it make at this point. Gohmert answered that if we had investigated murders in our embassies from the 1990s, that maybe the people in Benghazi wouldn’t have died.

Gohmert said that we should have learned how important is was to have security for those we put in difficult positions and to “make sure that if they came under attack, we got them help before any Washington official laid his or her head down to sleep.”

Gohmert believes that we need to get to the bottom of this because we owe it to those who died in Benghazi. He told the audience to urge their Congressmen to get on board because the truth needs to come out and only a Select Committee with subpoena power can do that.

“We’re not supposed to cover up truth, we are supposed to embrace it,” said Gohmert.

Republicans didn't create the scandal.

 Evil or Very Mad

Over several days, it was the various "reasons" for the deaths of five Americans that spewed from those with the most to lose.

This scandal could have been handled already if obama and Clinton didn't have anything to hide. If there is no scandal all they have to do is tell the truth.
