Emphysema? He didn't save his cigarette money?
Yeah, and with a beer belly like that, he should cut back to two meals instead of relying on a big dinner:

The reason I have so much respect for the good folks at Meals on Wheels is that they'll even deliver meals to a schmuck like you, NH, if you become housebound!

Gimmedat Generation Next?
Before you can collect, you should give. How many of these are US veterans with honorable discharges?News Buzzard wrote:The reason I have so much respect for the good folks at Meals on Wheels is that they'll even deliver meals to a schmuck like you, NH, if you become housebound!
I've seen those meals, and glad that I saved my money by abstaining from the modern abuses that are all around us. (Gambling, marijuana, other drugs, gas-guzzling vehicles, "new-everything", alcohol, and tobacco). Look around you—people are careless with their future—directly because of Socialist it-takes-a-village "help". Where is "personal responsibility" these days?
I've worked great jobs, and too proud of my record to live off handouts. Now, for those truly in need—through no fault of their own—that's different. But there needs to be a moral high ground for working Americans, so they don't morph into the fatally-flawed Socialist mindset. Even with the full-blown Socialism the US inadvertently encouraged by supplying post-war Europe—including their defense—you still see street beggars in Europe.
(A lesson that isn't getting the bad press it deserves).

You obviously don't know too much about the Meals on Wheels program and you didn't read the article too well. One guy was blind, another a 69 year old Air Force veteran and then a 99 year old woman, and for you to summarily write off this program based on one picture proves my point about you. There are a lot of needy people out there who you and the state legislature don't give a crap about.

Last June, a 92-year-old man named Ronald Read died. He was a gas station attendant, and left an estate worth $8,000,000.
If he was accepting "Meals on Wheels", would you still feel good about trashing the NH House?
My answer would be a "means-test".
Re: This Is How The NH House Treats The Elderly!
If he was accepting Meals on Wheels, so in other words he wasn't accepting Meals on Wheels. That's the same kind of BS innuendo you keep throwing at Hillary, with no evidence!!

Neither of us knows for sure, but he was 92 years of age: had he asked for Meals on Wheels, you'd turn him down?

It would be innuendo to say that Bill Clinton's speaking tours quintupled in cash when Hillary became Secretary of State, but it's not innuendo that five years of Clinton IRS returns is being "revised".

You don't know anything for sure, and I find it humorous that you are complaining about Bill's speaking fees. What ever happened to that free market you love so much? Isn't Clinton entitled to make as much as his brand will earn when he speaks???? You only seem to like the free market when it benefits you!!

Bill (and Hillary's) speaking fees are "quid-pro-quo"—meaning government is being run in accord with Mafia "business" practices.
BTW, I just learned that my little Florida community has Meals on Wheels at $4.35 per delivered meal. Their "customers" (and drivers) are reduced in number when the snowbirds go north in the summer. Also nearby is a $2 noon dinner (with ice cream desserts) hosted by AARP's "Senior Center", but they don't deliver.

Re: This Is How The NH House Treats The Elderly!
We have a $3 noon dinner (free if you can't afford it) 3 times a week at the All Saints Church. It is subsidized by the town and sometimes by the church. Same goes for Thursday evening Dinner Bell, so the wonderful folks at All Saints Church are feeding many people 4 times a week. The food pantry is also set up at the All Saints parish outreach center and it looks like a busy place to me on Wednesdays.

Bill runs a "Charity" that gives just 6.4% of its "donations" to Charity. Just what category Hillary's brother falls into with his new taxpayer-funded Haitian "Charity" gold mine contract isn't known.
BTW: taxes in New Hampshire are low enough to compare with Florida's:

You might tell your buddies at ALEC that New Hampshire does in fact have an income tax on dividends and interest!

The states listed are likely to have differing "footnote" taxes—including Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Tennessee, Washington, and Wyoming.News Buzzard wrote:ALEC is the oligarch's dream:

For example, Maryland has a "Rain Tax".
