Wolfeboro man arrested
DURHAM, N.H. —Officers from the Durham Police Department were called to Madbury Court at around 4:11 p.m. Saturday by residents who asked that a large, rowdy crowd be removed.
Authorities who arrived at the scene said they encountered around 500 people who seemed to be blocking the street. Police said they were all gathered on the lawns of several apartment buildings.
Officers proceeded to break up the crowd and remove them from street, but they were met with beer bottles and cans that were being thrown at them.
One police officer was hit in the head.
Those responding officers withdrew from the scene and called in more assistance.
The new Hampshire State Police, University if New Hampshire, Lee and Newmarket police responded to the scene to help disperse the crowd.
Officers were then met once again with thrown bottles and cans. This time, according to authorities, several officers were struck.
The crowd slowly left the road after pepper spray and pepper balls were used.
Jordan Mahar, 21, of Wolfeboro was arrested after being seen throwing a beer bottle at a University of New Hamshire police officer.
Mahar was charged with riot, assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.

He's not listed in the Wolfeboro phonebook, so he must have an ObamaPhone.
