IRS targets Conservatives

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Internal Revenue Service apologized Friday for what it acknowledged was "inappropriate" targeting of conservative political groups during the 2012 election to see if they were violating their tax-exempt status.

IRS agents singled out dozens of organizations for additional reviews because they included the words "tea party" or "patriot" in their exemption applications, said Lois Lerner, who heads the IRS division that oversees tax-exempt groups. In some cases, groups were asked for lists of donors, which violates IRS policy in most cases, she said.

That means if you told the truth you would be found guilty?

Nothing screams "transparency" and "hope and change" like invoking the 5th Amendment.

Just when the liberals were pulling the covers over thier heads and hoping that the bad men would go away, there is more to come for the Benghazi and IRS scandals.


One by one, the criminals and liars are being weeded out and revealed. The cockroaches are now in the light and running for cover. We now have IRS executives "taking the 5th" in order to avoid criminal prosecution. There is another spate of Benghazi survivors ready to testify before Congress.

If you are "pleading the 5th" you are:

1. avoiding of self incrimination in a legal case.
2. You are aware that what you have done is potentially illegal.

If you have nothing to hide, then there's no reason to take the 5th. If this is not a "real scandal" as liberals assert, then there's no reason to take the 5th.

Think about this for a moment…

Considered the optics of an IRS manager pleading the 5th. When pleading the 5th is the best option on the table…how bad are the other options?

Try not paying your taxes and then taking the 5th!! Where do you think you would be then????

Yes, did you hear about Apple? They are treated equally. The do pay a lot of taxes but they avoid a lot too.

When one of the House committees was grilling Holder last week, a congressman from Texas (name escapes me) stated that Lois Lerner had already lied to congress, (perjury is a felony) so what choice did she have other than taking the 5th? Congress can offer her immunity in exchange for her testimony, but I wouldn't talk to them either because of their presumption of guilt. The congressman from Texas screwed that one up!

Now that the Republicans on Issa's committee have bungled this into an active criminal investigation, I would think that everyone they bring in from the IRS is going to take the 5th! As a career criminal, you would think that Issa would better know how to handle this investigation!

Fisker was to build cars in Delaware at the GM plant—which GM, the government—closed in 2009, laying off 1800 workers—forever. Instead, they built the cars in Finland, promising to build a $44,000 four door electric car—which never happened. Legislators in Delaware gave Fisker $ 20 million in outright grants because they were going to produce cars in Delaware. Even having Team Obama's Vice President from Delaware couldn't help keep the plant open.

Fisker used $18 million of OPM to buy the plant. From whom? GM? And who owned GM? Team Obama's government.

Now the Chinese are interested in buying Fisker at pennies on the dollar.
