Expert warns terrorists may be setting wildfires across American West

Colorado's Black Forest fire is barely contained at latest reports and has killed at least two people while consuming hundreds of homes and other structures and forcing the evacuation of more than 38,000 people, but a dozen other significant fires are also burning across the country, according to the National Interagency Fire Center.
Colorado has two other active fires besides the Black Forest blaze, while New Mexico has five, California and Oregon each have two, and Idaho has one. The NIFC has counted 19,472 fires through June 14, compared with 24,198 for the same Jan. 1-June 14 period in 2012.
The NIFC's historical data shows suggests no consistent pattern of increase or decrease of during the past decade, but wildfires can be categorized in a variety of ways and some national security experts warn that terrorists associated with al Qaeda and other radical Muslim outfits view such conflagrations as tools in their war against the U.S., Israel and Europe.

Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld of the New York-based American Center for Democracy's Economic Warfare Institute warns that last July "al-Qaeda's English-language online magazine, Inspire, published an article called 'It Is of Your Freedom to Ignite a Firebomb,' which featured instructions on how to build an incendiary bomb to light forests on fire.

I guess everybody knows that enemies of our Republic (the foreign ones) took advantage of the natural air streams across the Pacific to carry incendiary balloons to ignite forest fires in the Western states where they eventually fell. Only an American school teacher and two students became unknowing—and fatal—victims of a fallen incendiary device.

Not many know that the Japanese also launched single-seater aircraft from submarines to do the same job off the California coast.

Ugh, let me guess, we need drones and surveillance and biometric IDs to go into the woods now, right?

Well, I'm saying a few things.

1 - Because some unknown and anonymous "terrorism" expert proclaims that ululating Jihadists are hell bent on burning down Yosemite, well, by God, we better start hanging surveillance cameras in the trees, overflying drones, and installing biometric access card readers at the gate of parks and forests.

2 - The statements in bold are laughable. We are no more a free country, in any sense of the word, than we are the man in the moon. Thus "Laughing McMurphy".

3 - If the "terrorists" hated us for our freedom, they must love us now. See point two.

This is news to me.  Do you think it is really happening?

I see something interesting and I post it. Some times I agree with it some times I don't. I post to stimulate thought.

It could be happening. I don't know.

You never know.  It could happen.  Just like I heard that the shootings in Conn. were all planned so the public would want more gun control.  They said there is such a thing as professional mourners and everything.

Where did you hear that?

I actually heard it a couple of times but I can't remember where.  I was pretty surprised the first time I heard it.  When I mentioned it to someone else, they had heard it too.
