Bosnian in Vermont. accused of lying about war crimes:
BURLINGTON, Vt. — A Bosnian immigrant accused of lying to U.S. immigration authorities by denying involvement in war crimes during the conflict in Bosnia two decades ago pleaded not guilty on Friday.
Prosecutors allege Edin Sakoc, who has been living in Burlington, the state's largest city, was involved in war crimes against a civilian Bosnian Serb family in 1992. An indictment says he raped a Serb woman and aided in the killing of the two elderly people she was caring for and the burning of the house they were staying in.
Vermont has a sizable Bosnian community. Between 1993 and 2004, 1,705 Bosnians were resettled in the state.

He moved to Vermont in 2001, became a legal resident of the United States in 2004 and was naturalized as a U.S. citizen in June 2007.

The GOP had control of all three branches and failed to address, in any serious fashion, any of these issues.

Which is why O-bomb-ya and his supporters are now on the same side as Cheney, Bush, Ashcroft, Limbaugh and Yoo, just to name a few, when it comes to expanding the warfare/surveillance state.

Isn't that Lewiston, Maine where a lot of them settled? And then the mayor got in trouble for saying something politically incorrect regarding them.

They were originally settled in Georgia, and found the "perks" better in Maine.

I swear I recall reading that was a FedCoat program that re-settled them there.
I'll have to look that up when I get a minute.

How true. But I don't think they would have any idea how to revive Detroit. Aren't they here to be taken care of? Maybe I am wrong.
