I don't care if they ban it or not. That's the school and parents decision.
I can't remember what I did during Jr high recess. I thought kids today were too busy with their cell phones to play sports.

Would you care if it affected your family? I wonder how many kids got seriously injured to prompt this change?

True. I'm glad we were tougher back in school. We had balls.

That reminds me of a song by AC/DC. Here are the lyrics:fshnski wrote:True. I'm glad we were tougher back in school. We had balls.
I'm upper, upper class high society
God's gift to ballroom notoriety
And I always fill my ballroom
The event is never small
the social papers say I've got the biggest balls of all
CHORUS:
I've got big balls
I've got big balls
And they're such big balls
fancy big balls
And he's got big balls,
And she's got big balls,
But we've got the biggest balls of them all!
And my balls are always bouncing
My ballroom always full
And everybody comes and comes again
If your name is on the guest list
No one can take you higher
Everybody says I've got great balls of fire!
CHORUS:
I've got big balls
I've got big balls
And they're such big balls
fancy big balls
And he's got big balls,
And she's got big balls,
But we've got the biggest balls of them all!
Some balls are held for charity
And some for fancy dress
But when they're held for pleasure,
They're the balls that I like best.
And my balls are always bouncing,
To the left and to the right.
It's my belief that my big balls should be held every night.
CHORUS:
we've got big balls
we've got big balls
And they're such big balls
fancy big balls
And he's got big balls,
And she's got big balls,
But we've got the biggest balls of them all!
And I'm just itching to tell you about them
Oh, we have such wonderful fun
Seafood cocktail
Crabs
Crayfish

High Schools ban good sportsmanship.
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky’s athletic sanctioning body has ordered high schools not to conduct postgame handshakes in all sports following more than two dozen physical confrontations the past three years.
Tuesday’s directive from Kentucky High School Athletic Association Commissioner Julian Tackett posted on its web site didn’t mention specific fights or conflicts but said several fall sports have had postgame incidents.
The organization says it’s “disappointing” to take such action but that it became necessary because of occurrences statewide and nationally.
KHSAA has also instructed game officials to immediately leave facilities after contests or risk being penalized.

Nashua,NH schools ban the game of tag ... too many kids having fun.
NASHUA, N.H. —
A Nashua elementary school has banned kids from playing the game of tag during recess.
Charlotte Avenue Elementary School Principal Patricia Beaulieu called the game a "safety concern" when the school made the decision last week, the Telegraph reported.
"The force with which students 'tag' varies greatly, and this game, in particular, has been banned in many schools in the United States due primarily to concerns about injuries," Beaulieu posted in a letter on the school's website.
Parents have questioned the policy, saying the move was "ridiculous."

Re: Stand still on the playground so you don't get hurt.
A New Jersey school district is ordering all students who play soccer - and other non-contact sports - to wear helmets on the field.
The Princeton School District's new rule is causing many parents - and even some doctors - to question whether soccer is really dangerous enough to warrant mandatory headgear to protect children from concussion.
However, school administrators are moving forward with a plan to purchase $70 soft helmets for every athlete grades six through 12 who plays soccer, field hockey or girls' lacrosse.

Postal Service Destroys ‘Just Move’ Stamps Over Safety Concerns
The United States Postal Service (USPS) has destroyed an entire press run of a stamp series over safety concerns about the images on three out of the 15 stamps in the series.
The stamps, which were aimed at getting children to be more active, featured kids cannonballing into a pool, skateboarding without kneepads, and performing a headstand without a helmet.
Postalnews, a blog run by Brian Sheehan, a retired postal employee from Massachusetts, reports that USPS Chief Marketing and Sales Officer Nagisa Manabe asked First Lady Michelle Obama to take part in a first day ceremony for the stamps.
Upon reviewing the stamps, members of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition, which was launched by Michelle Obama in 2010, raised their concerns.

What, do we have an epidemic here? Why all of a sudden are all the schools refusing to let the kids MOVE for fear they will hurt themselves??? Is it the liability?
