You lie! Poll finds Obama, Hillary Clinton 'deliberately misled' on Benghazi

As former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton battles new allegations that she only considered presidential politics in voting against the successful surge of troops to Iraq in 2007, the 2012 Benghazi attack continues to haunt her, with a new poll finding that Americans believe the administration “deliberately misled” them on the scandal.

A new YouGov poll found that 44 percent of the public believes “the Obama administration deliberately misled the American people” when the president, Clinton, and others suggested the attack was sparked by outrage over a western movie, not terrorism. Some 30 percent said the administration “shared the facts as they became available,” and 25 percent clocked in at “not sure.”

Worse for Clinton, 40 percent in the just-conducted poll disapproved of her handling of the affair. Just 31 percent approved. In addition, 46 percent disapproved of Obama’s handling of the affair.

And the nation is worried that it will happen again as long as Obama is in charge. Asked how confident they are that the administration is taking the “right steps to prevent future attacks like the one on the U.S. consulate in Libya,” 50 percent said they were not very or not at all confident. Only 38 percent gave the administration the thumbs-up sign.

Finally, the poll shows that the public saw through the smoke clouding the attack, with 46 percent believing that al Qaeda was responsible; just 16 percent said the terrorist organization wasn’t responsible.

Despite the passage of time and efforts by Clinton supporters to close the door on the affair, the poll found that the public’s view of the scandal hasn’t change four months.

They tried to change the narrative on Benghazi. It was a terrorist attack! It was pretty inconvenient to obama and and his cohorts   because obama recently had proclaimed mission accomplished, the war on terrorism is over. They lied because it contradicted this proclamation. They lied because they thought the truth was going to harm them politically.

If they have nothing to hide, all they have to do is tell the truth.

The left has the intestinal fortitude to declare that the terrorists that attacked benghazi didn't involve al-qaeda.

That's like saying Budweiser made in New Hampshire is different than Bud made in St Louis.

Good for you! Send the results of that internet poll to Chairman Issa and maybe he'll start spinning his wheels again!! There is nothing like beating a dead horse!!

The State Department is finally going to designate the benghazi attack as terrorism.

Less than two weeks ago, on December 28, David Kirkpatrick of the New York Times trumpeted the results of his investigation into the attacks on U.S. government facilities in Benghazi, writing that there was “no evidence that al Qaeda or other international terrorists had any role in the assault.” The Times piece specifically ruled out any meaningful involvement of an ex-Guantanamo detainee named Sufian Ben Qumu, who has longstanding ties to al Qaeda and is currently the leader of Ansar al Sharia in Derna, Libya.


According to the Times on Dec. 28, “neither Mr. Qumu nor anyone else in Derna appears to have played a significant role in the attack in the American Mission, officials briefed on the investigation and the intelligence said.”

But on January 7, Adam Goldman of the Washington Post first reported that the U.S. State Department will formally designate Ansar al Sharia Derna as a terrorist entity, a designation that includes Sufian Ben Qumu. The designation will specifically mention Ansar al Sharia Derna’s involvement in the attack, as some of Ben Qumu’s men participated in the assault.

As THE WEEKLY STANDARD pointed out after the Post’s piece was published, the reporting in the designation directly contradicts Kirkpatrick’s conclusion.

Kirkpatrick wrote that no one from Derna “played a significant role” in the Benghazi attack. The State Department disagrees.
