Economy Adds 288,000 Jobs In June

Don't worry, WHL. the Republicans are going to let the Highway Trust Fund run out of money, so hundreds of thousands of highway construction workers will lose their jobs by the end of the summer. The GOP is not happy unless the economy is in a free-fall on Obama's watch. It's also very painful for the Republicans to see less fortunate folks get health insurance. It's simply un-American to take care of our citizens !!!    

They have enough of our damn money.  They just need to account for it.  STOP WASTE!!!

The federal gas tax hasn't gone up in 21 years and you're always trying to say that the cost of labor and materials hasn't gone up either. It's interesting that you think the maintenance of our Eisenhower Interstate Highway System is a "waste". Our economy so heavily relies on over the road shipping, it's hard to imagine allowing our roads getting into disrepair. The GOP's longing for third world status for this country will be their waterloo. The people won't put up with it, just like in several states where Tea Party governors are on the ropes.

How many times did the experts say that the Great Recession has been the worst downturn since the Great Depression, so why are you comparing this recession with Reagan's time? The stock market crashed 20% in one day under Reagan and it still wasn't as bad as the Great Recession! Who is really doing the manipulating around here?

Obama is nothing more than a centrist Democrat and you've called him every name under the sun. I don't know how many time he's been referred to as a socialist and that only tells me that there are a lot of people in this country who don't have a clue of what socialism really is!

The federal gas tax has NOT been spent on roads, it has been spent on EVERYTHING--thrown into the general fund.  Waste is things like still paying for defunct operations like the one I read about today.  Not having federal mandates, rules and regs., would help too, like not having to hire union labor to fix roads.

That's the Republican default line when they don't want to raise taxes, but you don't attach any documentation as to where the money is going. In New Hampshire the gasoline tax goes for other purposes which the state deems to be connected to the highways, like part of the state police budget, but if they pull that money back and dedicate it solely toward the roads, then they create a hole somewhere else in the budget which they'll have to raise additional revenue for. (like an income tax) You simply can't justify not raising the federal gas tax in 21 years, because the cost of everything goes up over time. One way to hurt the economy is to let the roads go to hell, and that's what the Republicans are trying to do! That's a real shame because thousands of people are going to lose their livelihood.

The liberals are angry with Obama over many things. He promised to close Gitmo, and he didn't. Obamacare is not a single payer system. He continued the NSA eavesdropping program and ramped up the use of drones. He probably didn't end the wars fast enough for the liberals, and he tried to compromise with the Republicans in his first term when they said from the beginning that they weren't going to cooperate with him.

You forget that it's not Congress' job to agree with Obama.

It is the job of the Congress to work with the President, and even though this Congress is doing nothing our economy is still improving. I like the draft Mitt Romney movement. That would make him a 3 time loser in 2016.  

And it is the President's job to work with Congress, something THIS President refuses to do.

The BLS report also says the number of full-time jobs tumbled by 523K while part-time jobs soared by 799K!   

This is GOOD according to an Obama flag waiver.
 
Obama supporters are trying to sell this economic stagnation, full time job loss, record level of poverty, and drop in median family income as a sign things are getting better.

Better for whom?

The Obama swooners don't care is fewer Americans have jobs, and those that have a job are finding that more and more of the jobs are low paying part-time jobs.
 
Show an Obama supporter the 46 million of food stamps, the record levels of poverty and they could give a crap.
 
As long as the government throws crumbs to the poor and desperate American families suffering under this Obama economy, then it's out of sight, out of mind, and nothing else needs to be done.

We had an 800 billion stimulus spending bill that did nothing.  No more, no way.  The Democrats can’t be trusted with the check book.

Look at the Middle East, Obama made it worse. (on our way to a terrorist state)

Look at the division (political, racial and fiscal). Obama made it worse.

There is no way you can spin 288 thousand jobs into bad news, but of course it will be offset by the 1 million lost jobs because the Republicans are sitting on their hands with the Highway Trust Fund. No matter how the Conservatives like to spin it, the USA is still one of the lowest taxed countries in the world while our wealthy class has trillions of dollars parked offshore. The people are being suckered by the Koch brothers, but in the end it won't work. Hillary in 2016!
