Re: Economy Adds 288,000 Jobs In June
Try and spin this: full-time jobs tumbled by 523K while part-time jobs soared by 799K.
We are still short 3,747,000 Full-Time jobs.
The Full-Time-to-Population Ratio is 48.21%. The last time the Full-Time-to-Population Ratio was lower than that was February 1983 at 45.27%.
We are also short 14.2 Million workers to pay for Social Security and Medicare (through 2035).
Your solution: Higher Taxes & go after the rich.
A capitalist system natural state is to grow. With that said, this has been the slowest, most pathetic economic recovery in US history, and the most dramatic decline in the labor force participation rate.
Why?
You touched on it. Obama and his minions seem to think the only jobs worth growing are government, green and union jobs. Here is a hint…those are not the jobs we lost. In turn, His policies and regulations have stunted the growth of jobs that he deems “unworthy”. It just so happens those were the jobs that were hit the hardest and those are the area’s with the greatest potential for growth.
Taking tax money to pay others to work is not stimulating growth. We tried that to the tune on 800 Billion and it failed.
Creating a paltry 288,000 jobs is not enough, we need 400,000-500,000 a month and we need the majority of jobs to be full-time career jobs.
Does it even register with you, that Obama has been president going on six years, and we are still looking for and hoping for "signs of a recovery???"
A bigger stimulus? Obama has almost doubled the national debt. How much bigger do you think he needed?
Your problem is that you are stuck in July of 2008, chanting "hope and change," and refusing to look at results and failure.

The national debt was doubled by the policies of George W Bush, and anyone with half a brain realizes that. That's why Obama won twice. That other nonsense you speak of is nothing but useless Republican drivel!

Re: Economy Adds 288,000 Jobs In June
Anyone with half a brain knows Obama has been president for 5 ½ years. Obama is the executive branch, the debt run up under his tenure is ALL his. Any policy that remains, is his. Obama hasn’t got a single vote for his budgets (all of which would have added to the debt by the way). While the House has passed budgets aimed at controlling spending (by miniscule amounts but still lower) and Obama refused to even consider them because the cut too much.
Five plus years in, todays’ economics are the result of his policies, actions and non-actions not the previous administration.
What kind of twisted nonsense logic would you believe to think this is somehow the previous administration’s fault?
The idiot notion of taking money from working people and borrowing the balance to fund a million new government jobs is not the answer. Obama tried that already and how many of those stimulus jobs remain?
It's a lousy band-aid solution at best.

Sounds a lot like that 47% Mumbo Jumbo that cost Romney the White House. Keep it up and Hillary will take a lot more than 332 Electoral Votes! Then you can bitch about her for 8 years !

There is something wrong with Obama's executive grasp—that it's taken all of these years to not even break-even.Outerlimits wrote:"...Five plus years in, todays’ economics are the result of his policies, actions and non-actions not the previous administration..."
How is it that the US has become a petroleum exporter, but gasoline still runs upward to $5 per gallon?
Part-time employees have to get to work somehow. My neighbor's daughter has to commute 45-minutes (one-way) to her part-time job as a hairdresser—and is also paying $30 per week for a roof over her head with her in-laws.
Obama has created a new "middling-poor" class.

Has it ever occurred to you that a Congress that has made many attempts to crash the economy might have something to do with it?

Are the oil companies controlled by the government, as in a Socialist state you so abhor? You Conservatives love the free market, that is of course unless you're getting screwed.
I love this barbarian mentality; Crash the country and then point the finger at Obama !

Congress' "brainchild" (and Slick Willy). brought about "toxic loans", with Obama's ONE appearance as a practicing attorney adding to the mayhem of the collapsed CRA—which crashed as predictably as currency manipulations by George Soros in Europe.
One brought the word "trillions" to the news, the other brought "multi-billionaire", plus "Nazi-Collaborator".

Fauxcahonta's name has been "floated" by Obama. You need to be goose-stepping to her side, if you want to remain a faithful National-Socialist.

How in the world could anyone with half a brain have thought that Obama would be an effective president?
Anyone who thought that a community organizer with no executive skills or experience at all would make a good president needs to have their voting rights revoked. Obama has simply proven (as did Carter) that liberals cannot effectively run anything. They are great at campaigning and motivating voters, but are terrible at actually running the nation.
One of Obama’s many problems is that he can’t/won't make a decision. Many serving in his administration have admitted as much.
We know by his past legislative experience that he voted "present" about 100 times.
How many times during his 2 terms have we heard" I will get to the bottom of this" only to see NOTHING done.
NB loves to put out the excuse "Obama has a Republican controlled House and can't get ANYTHING done"
ALL previous Presidents have been able to work a split control Congress. Obama can’t.
Obama has damaged the Democrat/liberal brand and continues to do so each and every day. There will be consequences in November and 2016. Of course the partisans will vote for their respective parties, but those in the middle, those who will decide the election, will not vote for another 4 years of this.

FauxCahontas Gains—Thanks to Hillary's Book Sale (Off)...
News Buzzard wrote:

Hillary may get scalped by a fake Indian:
"Hillary Clinton's tour promoting her book Hard Choices may be having an effect—though perhaps not the one the 66-year-old former secretary of state might have wanted. A new poll of the potential 2016 presidential field from Quinnipiac, conducted at the end of June, found support for Clinton among Democratic primary voters at 58 percent. That's an 11-point drop from an ABC News/Washington Post poll of the potential Democratic field—conducted in late May, before Hard Choices was released—that found 69 percent supported Clinton over any other possible Democrats.
According to the Quinnipiac poll, the biggest beneficiary of Clinton's drop in support appears to be Elizabeth Warren, the first-term senator from Massachusetts and a favorite of progressive populists. Warren received 11 percent support, while Vice President Joe Biden has 9 percent. Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York received four percent, while governor Martin O'Malley of Maryland and former governor Brian Schweitzer of Montana each polled just one percent.

That's why Hillary is up 10 points on your very thin field.
Anyone with half a brain is aware of the Republican obstruction machine in Congress. No legislation whatsoever in the House and 500+ filibusters in the Senate. That's why they enjoy a 6% approval rating.

As a hard core Obama supporter I would expect nothing less from you then to blame somebody else for his disastrous presidency.
One may give a child a pass on blaming somebody else for their failures, the President of the United States, well not so much.
He is supposed to lead, he is supposed to be strong, and he is supposed to inspire the entire nation…not just a few far right moonbats. As for the dysfunction in congress, yeah well that is on Obama too.
Obama is nothing more than a used car salesman in a nice suit.

Nice try. What you're having trouble with is the fact that your obstruction won't work. Hillary is going to stomp on any flunky you can put up. Read up on Governor Brownback's situation to understand what a scorched earth austerity policy can do for a Republican in a red state. Obama won twice and you lost !

World's Largest Company Says "The Numbers are COOKED"

Your numbers are cooked:
"When the CEO of the world's biggest company doubts the veracity of US economic data, you know you have a problem.
After quarters of disappointing growth in the face of miraculous equity market performance; Wal-Mart CEO Bill Simon warns that shoppers aren’t returning at the pace one might expect years after the recession peaked, despite mainstream media interpretation of the data showing unequivocal growth.
Simply put, he exclaims, "the unemployment numbers particularly have been difficult to read with the number of people dropping out of the work force," adding that if we see a further drop in the participation rate it would fit with the fact that "middle-class and lower-class are still economically challenged, only spending during holidays and for family occasions," adding that traction has only come at the top-end.

Today, how many part-time jobs does it take to make the grade to $130K?
(Aside from one Government job?)

Government Motors ends quarter sinking Big-Time.
If the jobless rate includes part-timers, is that why the following happens?
The inflation-adjusted net worth for the typical household was $87,992 in 2003. Ten years later, it was only $56,335, or a 36 percent decline, according to a study financed by the Russell Sage Foundation. Those are the figures for a household at the median point in the wealth distribution — the level at which there are an equal number of households whose worth is higher and lower. But during the same period, the net worth of wealthy households increased substantially.

Obamanomics isn't working out so well.

As usual, you don't know what you're talking about!
Net revenue in the second quarter of 2014 was $39.6 billion, compared to $39.1 billion in the second quarter of 2013. In the first six months of 2014, revenue rose to $77 billion, up from $76 billion in the same period a year ago.
EBIT-adjusted of $1.4 billion, after $1.2 billion in recall-related costs and $0.2 billion in restructuring costs
Company records strong core operating performance in the second quarter
Special charge of $0.4 billion for GM ignition switch compensation program
Profits are off because of numerous recalls but sales are at record highs....
