Meanwhile in "progressive" MA:

http://www.golocalworcester.com/news/massachusetts-state-debt-among-highest-in-us/

And this is with sales, income, excise, property, etc etc etc taxes:

http://boston.cbslocal.com/2014/12/17/group-says-massachusetts-faces-1b-deficit/

The bottom line is that a blend of taxes and fiscal responsibility are needed. I learned long ago that most people live up to their means. Often people that are not playing with their own money live beyond their means and don't hesitate to kick the can down the road.

Lessons???? Laughing Laughing Laughing

Bill Clinton said:

"you can get elected from the Right or from the Left in this country, but that you had better be able to govern from the middle."

Democrats have, and seem intent on continuing, to thumb their noses at the American voters and to follow their own agenda which has become more progressive than liberal.

The majority of Americans have always disagreed with Obamacare, and still do. The majority of Americans disagree with the direction Democrats have taken the country, yet they keep going down that path.

The GOP now controls the house, senate and the majority of governorships in the nation.  What more proof do you need that its the Democrats that have not learned the lesson?

Don't get too comfortable with that because the pendulum swings quickly. The governors referred to in the article are all Republicans and they're all backing away from further tax cuts, because of budgetary dilemmas in Kansas and Wisconsin. You keep beating the drum on Obamacare, but it's not going anywhere! Wink

Red Hill is right. There always has to be a blend of fiscal responsibility and taxes.

You still believe that Obamacare is in the best interests of anyone other than the privileged few?

The insurance companies are making a fortune off of Obamacare by selling Bronze plans to people who will never be able to pay out the $5,000+ deductible required for those Bronze plans to even start paying for anything other than preventive care. In other words, those plans that we are all paying for with subsidies are for the most part absolutely useless to the people who buy them with our money. Exactly how is that helping anyone other than the insurance providers?

Had the ACA been meant to act in our best interests, it would have done what its name implies, which is to make health care more affordable. When government declares what is best for all without the input from "all', and then uses extortion to go about getting it. Then builds elaborate lies claiming it is urgent and the best thing for people it considers too stupid to make their own decisions, this is what happens.

Obamacare is the albatross tied around the Democrat Party’s neck. The pendulum will continue to move to right as long as it is there.

The folks who benefit from Obamacare are not the privileged few, and that pendulum is going to hit you square between the eyes in 2 years after the Republicans show their true colors, eg; vouchers, privatization, block grants, dynamic scoring, etc. When ordinary Americans finally figure out that the Republicans are out to screw them, the party will be over! In the meantime, Obama will gladly return the favor of extreme obstructionism when the Republicans push their radical agenda, if they get it past the filibuster. You can tell already that the right wingers have Obama shaking in his boots!! Rolling Eyes

In the case of Obamacare, the "privileged few" are:

1. Some insurance companies
2. A few who get their overpriced insurance subsidized By the victims everybody else.

It’s a numbers game and it’s the middle class that is the victims of Progressive policies.  Most have figured that out before Gruber confirmed it.

Don't forget the insurance companies like Obamacare because they are guaranteed a profit (to be paid for by the taxpayers).

Mass. as well as other governments need to learn to be more "conservative" with the taxpayer's money. They are out of control. They need to learn to live with what is NEEDED not what is WANTED. The fairy tales are over-I hope.
