Labor Day Weekend on the Lake... Empty Labor Day Weekend on the Lake...

Post  News Hawk Sat Aug 31, 2013 4:44 am

Hopefully, drunken boaters won't "rule the lake".

All this summer, an indication that a weekend was coming up was preceded by an increase in boating activity—starting on Thursday. It increases markedly on Friday, then all the mayhem comes to visit Saturday and Sunday—breaking out about 11-AM and not letting up until dinner time.

After dinner, there is a decrease in speedboats, and the kayaks come out. Sure, there are skiers and tubers, but not like earlier. Later, there are fireworks disturbing the quiet evening, and stressing Loons and other birdlife. (Somehow, I always sleep through it, even on "the 4th").

I guess what they can't "legally" do at their home state "turf", they get to do here.

"Live Free or Die".

NH can only blame NH for all this.  NH puts a lot of effort in being a tourist state and the consequences are exactly what you have written.

People come to NH to have fun and then leave. They could care less about who doesn't like it.

You can either live with it or move to a non-tourist state...wherever that is. scratch

It may be be a little quieter than usual because of the cloudiness and showers.

Labor Day Weekend on the Lake... Empty Labor Day Sunday...

Post  News Hawk Sun Sep 01, 2013 8:57 pm

Our day of rest was shattered by about a dozen "Bad Boys", who arrived one-by-one and gathered in the middle of skiers and tubers. They departed in a noisy flurry of a race—perhaps some kind of unauthorized Poker Run?

Well, make that a "Poker-RACE".

Hopefully, if Fairpoint gives no more trouble, you'll get to see their noisy, speedy, and hazardous departure on YouTube shortly.

The little boat wins the race!

On the way to the "Bad Boys" roundup—this boat slowed—then turned into the path of the cruiser, like he never knew that he'd just passed him!

It must have been so "shattering" that News Hawk hasn't made it out of his underground bunker to post the Hazardous departure by a little boat?

Great pic, get any others? You should start a poker run photo service, people that have those boats pay big $$ for pics.

Wow it must have been armagadon for NH is still hunkered down in his bunker. We should send out the national guard to search for the little boat that cause such an apocalypse! HAHAHA

Some day the lakes region residents of winter harbor will ask each other: Where were you when the world stopped turning? Very Happy

It was  Armageddon for NH and News Hawk is still hunkered down in his bunker. He is afraid to post it here because he thinks that it might make some forum members ill and need immediate medical attention.

Here it is, and beware, it is not for the faint hearted::

I am so sorry for the late reply. I saw this video earlier this morning and became so frantic I ran around the house locking my doors, unplugged the phones and cowered in the closet for the past hour.  After my uncontrollable crying I worked up the courage to go outside and do a site inspection of my home in case the noise vibrations of the hazardous exit caused any foundation cracks. I called all my neighbors on the lake and they are all currently performing the same inspections.

I now can see why News Hawk is on sabbatical. Most likely post tramatic stress disorder.

Please everyone, be very very cautious when reviewing the video. Make sure kids are not within earshot! I will never be the same again.

We should send copies of the video to all news outlets and the authorities to see if we can form an investigation on who these scofflaws are..

Note that the volume can't turned up or down with my camera.

No

AND I had the nerve to complain about the racket from gas-powered leaf blowers!

'Think the NHMP would be concerned about an unauthorized race through a small area that narrows at both ends?

That area in the video is the same size as "Long Lake" where two were killed by a boat similar to those videotaped last weekend.

From the looks of it they were all in the middle of the bay. Weren't racing. Obeying the law... You are just looking for a problem when there wasn't one soley because you don't like that type of boat.

So any style boat congregating and traveling in the same direction is a "unauthorized race"????? really????

I see it as a group of fellow boaters enjoying the lake going for a ride. It is always nice to meet up and travel in a group. I wish I could have been part of it.

So they shattered your weekend in the total of 1:37 they were present in "your" bay?????

Do you realize how little creditability you are projecting right now?

Seriously: why don't you call them and send them the video and see what they think. I am sure they would love to hear from you: AGAIN!

Thanks to "The Trojan Horse Bill", they are legally entitled to open their exhausts—something that allowed Ocean-Racers to quietly motor through residential areas.

scratch

I've called the NHMP once this year, to report a flashing marker knocked-adrift in "my bay".

It's "my bay" because I see it (and live on it) every day, three—sometimes four—seasons a year.

Don't you have some important "work" to be doing?

You are the one who posts false information about an "unauthorized race"

You claim that it was a shattering ordeal. However the video does not look that way.

You now start other accusations about a Trojan horse bill that again you have no idea what you are talking about.

You then try to use the tragic deaths of two people this last weekend at a different lake under different circumstances. Don't you have any shame?

Then you try to enlist what the NHMP may think about the video but won't call or send it to them???

Basically you've proven your own arguments invalid.

Yes I am doing some very good work currently.. Making you look like the Jackass you truly are.. Cool
