Fire out Lang Pond Road?

There's smoke billowing out north of Libby Museum—and where's there's smoke, there's something incendiary.

 

I saw smoke earlier. I thought maybe someone was just having a bonfire-if they still call them that. It might have been different than what you saw.

A couple of years ago, I saw a similar fire in the same general direction—directly north of Libby Museum. Since "my turf" could be threatened, I called the Tuftonboro Fire Department.

Their answer?

"You're probably seeing the Tuftonboro dump"

 

Well we had a brush fire a while ago and someone saw it and called the fire dept. The fire dept. came and said that they knew we had a permit, but since someone called, they had to come. Speaking of fire depts., have you seen the new Tuftonboro fire building?

Haven't been over that way for awhile—so, no.

Here's what I saw:

Probably not the smoke I saw. It would had to have blown quite a ways to get there and that looks like it is originating right there. Something did happen yesterday on Gov. Wentworth Highway right across from Museum. Lodges. At least one ambulance, fire truck, cop. The fire truck scared me to death. They blew their siren coming out of T. Neck before I saw them going straight and it was LOUD!
