It is only a start, but yes, properly regulated competition will always lower price.  Tort reform, healthcare savings accounts would also lower costs.

Obamacare is bad for the majority of the population.  Your side is willing to increase healthcare costs, reduce coverage and stifle innovation so that a minority can receive a benefit directly from those who earned it.  There are better ways to improve healthcare delivery than to make everyone’s healthcare worse.

News Buzzard wrote:The Republicans haven't done a damn thing since they took over the House, and all they have to run on in the Fall is the bashing of Obamacare. The only thing the Democrats have to do is parade the really sick people in front of the cameras and convince the viewers that the Republicans are going to take their health insurance away.

I am pretty happy with this congress.  They have somewhat limited the influence and reach of an imperial presidency.  When the “affordable” Care Act is considered his signature legislation, it’s probably a good idea to limit his opportunities for any more achievements.  All the Republicans need to do is stand back and watch Obamacare screw those who had insurance, liked their doctors, hospitals and health plans.  It's a numbers game and Obama has the short end of the stick.

News Buzzard wrote:Do you think it's a coincidence that Boehner is now talking immigration reform? He knows they're going to get their clocks cleaned in November if they don't do something!!

Let me ask you this.  We have millions of unemployed and under employed AMERICANS.  You are always complaining we do not take care of our people.  How is it in the country’s best interest to make millions of non-Americans legal?

Pretty easy to see why it’s in a politician’s best interest…isn’t it?

Why can't we take care of both groups? This is America! We would have a lot more people working today if the Congress did something! The only thing on the Republican's minds is trashing Obama, and that's not a winning strategy!!

I agree 100% NB.  We are all humans beings and both groups need to be taken care of.  Why the GOP can't comprehend that is beyond me.

The Democrats think that if the keep repeating a lie, it will come true. Just like; "There will be a day when nobody will see color. You will love and accept each and every person you meet. You will see no color, no nationality, no sex, no nuttin'! We will all be equal of thought, coinage and standing". I had a lefty say that to my face. I think he saw that in a Star Trek episode.

La la la, dee, dee, dee … It will be wonderful!

Don't go to church do you.

Matthew 7:1-29

JUDGING OTHERS

“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

Never-ending nightmare: 6 in 10 have horrible health care exchange experience - Page 2 Empty Obamacare website failure: 18K West Virginians forced to re-enroll

Post  fshnski Fri Jan 03, 2014 8:58 pm

Thousands of West Virginians who thought they had signed up for Obamacare will have to re-enroll because of glitches in the system.

Due to problems with the federal exchange’s ability to transfer data to and from the state, approximately 18,000 people will have repeat the process, the Charleston Gazette reported.

“This really is a national problem,” Jeremiah Samples, assistant secretary for the state Department of Health and Human Resources, told the Gazette.

About 10,000 people who used Healthcare.gov website to sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act were found to be eligible for Medicaid.

But the federal website transferred “flat files” — which contains the applicant’s basic information but not enough to complete the Medicaid application — to West Virginia officials.

The state health department sent letters to those 10,000 people informing them they will need to sign up again on the state’s Medicaid website, the Gazette reported.

The other 8,000 people attempted sign up for Medicaid through the state but were found ineligible.

The information from their applications was supposed to transferred automatically to the federal health insurance exchange, but the transfer glitch will force them to sign up again on Healthcare.gov.

Those applicants will be informed via automated phone message, Mr. Samples said.

“My hope and expectation is that, as the feds address these transfer issues, it will resolve what appear to be inaccuracies,” he said.

With Obamacare®️, seems like the Dims have already done that—and more!

The reason we can't take care of everybody the way you would like Achigan and NB is because there are not enough working people in the country to pay for all those who want all the freebies. Very simple. And as those who are still working see others getting all the freebies, they ask themselves why they should work, so they don't and then there are more on the rolls.

If all the people who have withdrawn from the job market were included in unemployment stats the current rate would be over 10%!

And that is the problem. Progressives believe there is more than enough money.  Money that they can take from me or you because they have decided we already have enough. It's time to share. It doesn't matter wether you agree or not … IT'S TIME TO SHARE!

It doesn't matter if you disagree because common sense tells you it is not working.

It doesn't matter if you disagree on matters of faith.

It doesn't matter if you chose not to, because you don't want to … They will force you to comply!

They are destroying America as we know it. Progressive are deliberately lowering the bar in an attempt to equalize us with the rest of the world. They are trying to take away any sense of national pride, of national patriotism and of unity. This is by design.

Never-ending nightmare: 6 in 10 have horrible health care exchange experience - Page 2 Empty Obama admin to hold firm in pursuit of neutrality amid ‘global rebalancing’

Post  fshnski Sat Jan 04, 2014 8:20 am

The U.S. pullout from Afghanistan, Syria’s raging civil war and missed deadlines to disarm, a potential breakthrough nuclear deal with Iran, Chinese military muscle-flexing in Asia, a rapidly evolving and amorphous al Qaeda terrorist threat, a global backlash against American spying activities — Secretary of State John F. Kerry’s first full year as the top U.S. diplomat promises to be busy in a foreign policy landscape increasingly resistant to American dominance.

But analysts predict that the Obama administration is likely to hold firm to its pursuit of neutrality on the world stage by seeking diplomacy over confrontation and steering away from expensive, conventional U.S. military engagement as a strategy for containing the world’s troublemakers.

The bottom line is that the House will pass some form of Immigration Reform this year, whether it's popular on this forum or not. The mainstream Republicans learned a great deal from the fact that Romney got beat up pretty bad by the minorities, and they know that they can't win elections without doing something. The Tea Party is losing it's grip, and rightfully so!

Good article NB. I like the part where the speaker said this: "Boehner spoke for a lot of Republicans when he said he had had enough with being led around by the Tea Party and their fundraising benefactors."

The GOP and Tea Party are in real deep trouble over this immigration thing.

If you have been paying attention you would know that there hasn't been a peep out of the Tea Party. You are trying to manipulate the "news". Go ahead. Cherry pick some story you thinks gives credence to your socialist views.
